Games of 2012

Fellow Escapists what are you all looking forward to in gaming for 2012?.

I will be looking most forward to Chainsaw Lolipop since the game looks like it can't be taken seriously which in turn makes it a good game for me, and hopefully the new C&C will step up to the plate of the RTS genre and redefine itself.

And last but not least the expansion to SCII since that's all i can think of that will keep me entertained halfway through the year.

I'd say Call of Duty 2012 looks like a sure winner.

Probably a late-year release, but still... it must be quite far in development now.

Well I only know one game that I want that is confirmed to come out 2012: MASS EFFECT 3!!!

I do hope that Starcraft 2:Heart of the Swarm and Borderlands 2 comes out next year (wich they say is very likely), but i must say that some games that has caught my interest is Syndicate and Bioshock Infinite!

And hopefully Neverwinter online. As it uses the awesome dnd rules. atleast i hope so.*

Diablo 3 is by far my most anticipated game...and has been since after Dragon Age 2. Diablo 3 will likely be my GOTY choice for 2012 if it's anywhere as good or as addictive as it's predecessor. Other games I plan to buy on day one:

Final Fantasy 13-2 - FF13 in my top 5 FF games, here's hoping the sequel can keep it up.

Mass Effect 3 - While I'm not hyped for the game, I do look forward to completing the story. Easy day one purchase for me.

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm - I'm all about the single player campaign in the Starcraft series. So far no entry has disappointed. Wings of Liberty was actually my favorite of all time because of the diverse missions and replayability. I've got very high expectations for Heart of the Swarm, should be interested to see if it can live up to them.

Guild Wars 2 - I can't justify a monthly fee for MMO's. As such, I stick with free to play ones and Guild Wars. GW2 seems to be taking the combat in a new direction and it actually sounds fun. Everything about this game feels like a step in the right direction.

Other games are certainly of interest to me. I consider Borderlands to be my all time favorite FPS game...so the sequel will be an easy purchase. But it along with other titles will likely wait for a price drop before I pick them up.

Ugh. 2012 already? Well, in descending order of excitedness:
Mass Effect 3
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Prototype 2
Syndicate (Never played the original, and I'm a sucker for cyberpunk - and steampunk, speaking of which brings me to)
Bioshock Infinite
Torchlight II
Diablo 3 (If only because I should be getting it free)
The Last Guardian (If it ever gets finished)

Mild interest in the following:
Darksiders 2
Asura's Wrath
The Darkness II

And the most miniscule bone I can throw is given to Final Fantasy XIII-2, but only if the gameplay is better and the world is more open and actually feels alive this time around. I hated the removal of towns/cities to chat with NPCs in.

Hawken, Natural Selection 2, and Mega Man X: Corrupted.

The last two don't have a release year yet, but given current development it isn't a stretch to think of a 2012 release.

Hawken is a mech-flavored tactical arena shooter. Think of a slow Unreal Tournament with a few layers of strategy to compensate.

Natural Selection 2 is the only FPS/RTS hybrid I've heard of.

Mega Man X: Corrupted is shaping up to not only be the best free game, but the best Mega Man X game.

Kingdom Heart 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and(if I get a PS3)Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

Both games look good and I'm a fan of the KH franchise. Other than that, Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, anything that comes for the PSP, and Halo 4.

Hopefully 2012 will be the year I get into the shooter genre.

Most definitely Mass Effect 3, I can't wait to see how it ends. When it gets closer to coming out, I think I will do playthroughs of ME1 and 2 to setup a the save file I want for ME3. It is really the only game in 2012 that I am looking forward to at the moment.

Guild Wars 2, definitely. It would be very, very foolish to ignore Guild Wars 2.

Firefall looks like a lot of fun too. Very intriguing for an "MMOFPSRTSRPGANDSOMEOTHERLETTERS", which is what they were calling it.

Wildstar is intriguing. It's as if Naughty Dog made an MMO back in their Jack and Daxter days. Not 100% sure it'll come out in 2012, but they seemed to think it would...

Mechwarrior Online. I loved the Mechwarrior franchise, and to be honest don't like the idea of it as an MMO, but hey... at least they went back to pre-Microsoft MW style.

A lot of MMOs, huh? weird...

Soulcaliber V. It's been a long time, and I like Ezio as a guest character.
