So over the years, as we all have noticed, Graphics are getting better and better and are becoming so good, that sometimes they make your jaw hit the floor.

So, good people of the Escapist, i want to know what game left you drooling?. I don't care if it's an old game(Like Morrowind), i don't care if it's just came out(The Amazing Spiderman Perhaps?) and i don't care if it isn't even released yet(Assassins Creed 3?).

Now, this is YOUR preference. A game you bought (Or seen) whether it was 10 years ago, or just last week. At some point, that ten year old game possibly had the best graphics of it's time. (Halo CE anyone?)

If the game isn't out yet, post the trailer, post a screenshot ^^

For me, it has to be this.

The graphics are just jaw-dropping. (Yes Transformers fans, That is Metroplex in the back ground)

If i had to pick one that was released, I'd have to say Batman Arkham City, but all in all, Transformers Fall of Cybertron just looks incredible.

Your turn! ;D

Okami is still a beautiful game by today's standards, the Sumi-e art style is just brilliantly implemented.

And then there's Journey...

I'll advocate a few last gen games, because games from last gen tended to have really pleasing aesthetics:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is hands-down one of the best (looking) games I've played.

Star Ocean 4 The Last Hope was certainly stunning.

I didn't think a game could be too colorful. (Actually yes I did but meh)

Good graphics don't stun me - screenshots are never really too indicitive of visual quality, I mean, you can capture just the right screenshot to make a game look amazing, but the rest of the visual experience might be less impressive.

For me, besides Jet Set Radio which was mentioned, I'd say Pikmin2.

Jet Set Radio was such a strange game, not my type of game at all, but I just got sucked into that world, the whole game was amazing from start to finish - no slouching on visuals at all, unlike most modern games. It was cooler than any game ever thought it was possible to be - and without it we might not have games like Borderlands and Mirrors Edge.

Pikmin2, well that game is just a delight - I can see flashes of my childhood all throughout that game - and I don't mean a slackjawed retro kind of way, I mean the artifacts that you find... like the movement cross from a NES controller, I spent a lot of my childhood taking stuff to bits, raking through old electrical rubbish, taking arcade cabinets apart to get at the joysticks and microswitches... that whole game reminds me of that, finding something cool in amongst the dirt. The way the Pikmin gather all the treasure, the way you can examine the treasure and strange beasts that you encounter. It's like a microscope looking at a much much smaller, but infinitely more interesting world. Visually, it has some awesome graphics, the refraction effects on the GameCube can make the 360 look crap - seriously, I'd put some of the visuals against the PS3's refractions. The last time a videogame left my bottom jaw hanging, was Pikmin2, a little waterway, like an overflow for a drain, but with that uniform disruption you often see when the flow is constant. I just found this little spot, and just sat and stared at it... instantly I'm 9 years old, making little boats from toffee wrappers and sailing them through puddles.
Pikmin2 is a very very very difficult game, and I love it for that - I never finished it, but it's there, waiting for me when I have the time to revisit. Sometimes it's good to leave some awesome for later.

That's just my honest opinion. My Ps3 is hooked up to my dad's TV, and he has a giant HD flastscreen, so it looks amazing.

Games like Crysis and Call Of Duty don't do it for me in the visual department. I would probably say the best looking games I can think of at the moment are Bastion, Okami, Journey and FF9 back in the day. I would not throw Trine in the good looking pile like some people would as in my opinion as it looks so busy and cluttered that it ruins the aesthetics of what could of been a gorgeous looking game.

Some Minecraft shaders and texture packs make the game look gorgeous, the HD realism texture packs don't do it for me though, it just makes it look grainy. This looks amazing though...

Red Dead Redemption for obvious reasons, that game is beautiful.

Also ratchet and Clank, a Crack in time is good looking, big space vistas that look far better than most big budget Sci-Fi films.

I have the 360 version of Minecraft, apparently texture packs are coming but tbh i doubt i'll get any sure they look some of them look amazing, and i like how the leaves moved in the wind, but i think it would just kill the experience. The thing i love about Minecraft is the blocky graphics, it just makes it unique.
