Hi guys, I'm back asking for more help for my article. This time it's hopefully going to be a bit less controversial than last. All I'm asking is this:

Give me one game on this generation of consoles (i.e. 360, PS3, Wii, and DS) that you played that you thought was totally worth every penny you spent for it. You thought it had great gameplay, great story (if applicable), pretty good challenge, and you can (and still do) play it over and over again. If you can help it, you're never trading this game in. Of course it doesn't have to be perfect, but just one game you thought was really freaking good.

Ideally, I would like to have at least one plug for all of the following categories:

FPS
RPG
Party Games
Racing
Life Sim
Strategy
Action/Adventure
Handheld

Yeah, I read Yahtzee's article about game genres. I know they're ambiguous, but what can I say? They serve their purpose for my article.

So if you could just give me one game per genre (as many genres as you're familiar with and care to comment on,) what genre it falls into, and maybe just a brief blurb as to why you liked it so well, I would be greatly pleased.

Thanks again everyone, and happy voting.

(Mass Effect 2 is my plug for best RPG, by the way. Just saying.)

Hmmm, Batman: AA for me, it's an Action/Adventure (or puzzle, but that's not up there), and the main story was awesome, with challenge rooms and puzzles offering replay value.

FPS - Bioshock for sure. It's the only FPS since System Shock 2 that has been able to really entertain me. While it's not as deep as SS2 was, the game atmosphere more than made up for it.

RPG - Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 1 was great, but ME2 took it to an entire new level. While it may learn more on the action side of the spectrum, there are enough RPG elements to give this game a fair amount of depth. Great graphics, great story, great characters.

Life Sim - Spore. Spore seemed to fit best in this category even though it would also fit in strategy. Even though it's panned as a dissapointment by everyone as it was the victim of a huge amount of hype, I've dumped a huge amount of hours and have had a lot of fun with this game. It's simply unique and no game even comes close to the experience that it can deliver.

Strategy - Valkyria Chronicles. Despite the incredibly disappointing turn of events that has befallen the sequel, I will defend the original VC as one of the best overall games of the generation to the grave. Good plot, great characters, unique gameplay, and one of the most beautiful art styles I have ever seen in a game.

Action Adventure - Uncharted Series. It's just an amazingly well polished game, and it's a ton of fun.
