So. On a whim I went out to pick up Tekken 6. No real reason for it, I'm just in the mood for a goofy fighting game where I can play as a boxing kangaroo. I step out to Best Buy to look for it--no dice. I try Gamestop--nada. Not even a used copy. It struck me as odd, because Tekken--last I checked--is fairly mainstream. It's not quite as popular as some of the other fighting games out there, but my understanding is that it's popular enough. There's older, worse games sitting on the shelves and gathering dust than Tekken 6.

Second thought I had was: wait, what other games am I missing just because the stores fail to stock them?

So tell me, folks--what games have you gone out to buy, but not been able to actually find copies of on store shelves?

The World Ends With You

I swear it took like 5 stores to find it,and the store that had it my parents went to and got me the game making me wonder just from where.

The moment the Wii came out it was practically impossible to find any Gamecube games anymore.

I had to buy Wind Waker from some used game site because it was nowhere to be found in any actual gamestore.

When I bought my PS3 my first goal was to get the new Ratchet & Clank games(Tools of Destruction and Crack in Time), but they were nowhere to be found. Searched in every damn game store I could find in Stockholm and eventually I found a used version of ToD I bought. Shit didn't work though. The disc was all scratched up so I had to return it and get it cleaned.

Eventually found Crack in Time when I started buying games from a store in the UK. <3

Man, this makes me feel privileged. My local game shop does a huge used game trade, there's almost always a copy of World Ends With You knocking round there.

It took me a while to Find Persona 3 and 4, but they came in used to that shop about three weeks after I started looking.

Absolutely no where near where I live has had ever had one copy of Okamiden, which is annoying to put it lightly.

I spent all day yesterday looking for it. Wal-mart, K-Mart, Best Buy, Gamestop, Vintage Stock, practiacally everywhere. Just my luck that I can't find it.

Cross Edge. I still haven't found one in a store near me.

I wonder if the lack luster reviews have something to do with it? Oh well, if I ever see it, I'll probably buy it.
Heh there are two copies in my local shop. I got it on release. Pretty fun game, different.

Took me a while until I found Assassins Creed for sale in a store. I have yet to find the Witcher or the Witcher 2 ANYWHERE. Same goes for quite a few other popular pc games.
Sometimes I really hate where I live.

GTA4, when it first came out, was completely sold out for weeks after it's release. I got a copy eventually when play.com got more stock of it in. It's the only time I've known a game to completely sell out.

After playing Half-Life 2 on the 360, I decided I wanted to play the original. However, at that time I did not have a Windows partition on my laptop and therefore couldn't play the PC version. So I found that there had at one time been a PS2 version of it, so I went to 2 different Gamestops looking for it. Eventually, I found one, but when I got to the front, they said "oh I guess we don't have the disk, we only have the box." So I went to 2 more and eventually tracked down a copy.

Well, for a start I can't find any of the one piece games for the wii even on the internet for anything less than about £60 each.

It was also difficult to find any of the command and conquer games for PC.

People buy games in stores?
I typically buy PC games from gamersgate and console games from amazon so I never have that problem.
