We all have those games. Critically acclaimed, commercially successful, huge fan following. But for some reason you just can't get into them.

For me it's probably the Final Fantasy series. Maybe I should try the others as I've only played XII but it got REALLY boring after 3 hours of playing it. I am already not a fan of RPG's, since they make you dedicate an insane amount of time to them, and there's usually too much dialogue, but this really hit it home for me.

On the other hand, I can't understand why I love the Pokemon games that much. They also involve grinding and they're a regular RPG but I guess the monsters and tactics are much more fascinating to me.

I also don't like the God of War or the Onimusha series. I find it mind-numbing hack and slash that feels like "AWESOME! I RIPPED HIS HEAD OFF" in the first half of the game but get really repetitive by the end.

Also, not a big fan of the Street Fighter series. I've always found that Mortal Kombat or even Tekken is more fun.

Final Fantasy XII. I never was able to get into it.
Modern Warfare 2. I really dislike playing that game.

Halo (2,3. Number 1 was great) Bioshock
Some others, can't think of them at the moment
Metal Gear Solid (Mostly because I suck at them)
Assassin's Creed (any)
I liked old Call of Duty, but not much of this modern warfare stuff
Everyone hates FF12 T_T It was my second favorite Final Fantasy game xD

I totally forgot about the Metal Gear Solid series. They also don't appeal to me.

Halo....just never got into it. I tried but it was just so boring, I cannot understand how it has such a religious following.

And from the bits and pieces of the story I pick up every now and again, doubly displeasing.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It was so very very bad, and yet so very very popular. To this day, I've only met one other person who didn't think it was some kind of gift from on high. Eugh.
I also thought Dragon Age was a bit lacklsuter; not bad, mind, but it was kind of a step down for Bioware.

Any Morrowind/Halo/CoD games, they all fail on major levels that just makes them unplayable to me.

BioShock, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Morrowind, Doom 3, Halo, Call of Duty 4, Dragon Age and nearly every RPG with exception of STALKER, System Shock 2 and Vampire the Masquerade. Haven't tried out any JRPG though, there are none in the PC.

I have a few on this list.

Gears of War is terrible to me. The graphics bore me, the combats boring, the story...meh.

God of War is mediocre at best. All of my friends borrowed my copy but... I never finished it.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Yeah, they're good...but the originals were better.

Baldur's Gate. Any of them. PS2 versions, PC versions, etc... They bore me.

Bioshock is extremely overrated. So much potential wasted.

The list goes on, and on, and on.

The Grand Theft Auto series, Call of Duty series, the Elder Scrolls series, and Final Fantasy VII.

I despise the lack of anything keeping me going in the Elder Scrolls games, especially Oblivion. The Grand Theft Auto series just seems like there's too many distractions compared to the main story. Call of Duty never really stuck with me. Final Fantasy VII had characters I absolutely did not care about, even on my first playthrough.

The Halo and Call of Duty Series...I've just never got into them. Also any racing game that doesn't involve explosions and ramming into other cars. When the object is don't hit other cars to go faster I don't play it.

Half-Life 2. The controls and everything were probably good for their time, so I'm not too angry with them, but the fucking vehicle section... Dear god, I nearly spit up blood because of that...

And Alyx Vance is officially the most creepy character in any video game. You play Gordon Freeman, everyone's favorite emotionally oblivious mute, IE a skin for the player. Gordon is nothing. No one. Gordon has less emotion than the Master Chief, for the love of god. He is nothing but a thing for the players to live out their fantasies in. And the game company thought that the players are such lifeless losers that they'd give him (you) a girlfriend, who worships the ground you walk on. Whenever I see Alyx I think of the way Valve were using her to sell games, and it creeps me out. Every time she talks to me like I love her I bash her head in with a crowbar, and that smile creeps me right the fuck out. The creepiest moment in the game is when her father wants to give you and Alyx some "alone time" and winks at you.

Oh, and she was in the same room with me when they took away the upgraded gravity gun, or as I like to call it, the Force Unleashed gun. I actually glared at her and said "Give me back my fun gun" and tried to shoot her with the thing. But I hated her before that.

Portal. I'm sorry but I just couldn't get into it! I actually got stuck at one point, sort of. Perhaps I'm just too dumb...
