We all have those games. Critically acclaimed, commercially successful, huge fan following. But for some reason you just can't get into them.
For me it's probably the Final Fantasy series. Maybe I should try the others as I've only played XII but it got REALLY boring after 3 hours of playing it. I am already not a fan of RPG's, since they make you dedicate an insane amount of time to them, and there's usually too much dialogue, but this really hit it home for me.
On the other hand, I can't understand why I love the Pokemon games that much. They also involve grinding and they're a regular RPG but I guess the monsters and tactics are much more fascinating to me.
I also don't like the God of War or the Onimusha series. I find it mind-numbing hack and slash that feels like "AWESOME! I RIPPED HIS HEAD OFF" in the first half of the game but get really repetitive by the end.
Also, not a big fan of the Street Fighter series. I've always found that Mortal Kombat or even Tekken is more fun.
