MGS4. Like aliiicat mentioned the cutscene at the end of Eastern Europe was pretty depressing, and the
microwave hallway scene once he starts to crawl, I was urging Snake on with all my might the whole way

MGS3. The final fight with the Boss right through to the ending cutscene was definitely emotional. And I became very upset when I thought Eva was going to die.

Yahtzee's "1213". I did NOT see that plot twist coming, and the ending had me with a major feeling of sadness and mourning in the pit of my stomach.

We ♥ Katamari.

Seriously, regardless of how I'm feeling that game makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

MGS4 had me feeling so sad for Snake. What a way to for things to end after all the amazing things he did for everybody. It just seemed unfair.

Loads of games. In so many different ways. These are the ones I can think of right now, I'm sure there are others.

Caimekaze, I agree with you - anything Katamari makes me feel like the real world doesn't really matter and everything will be alright.

FF7, obviously.

Deus Ex -
made me think about what I really wanted for the world. What is the best way to run a country, or even a whole planet? I loved the possibility that there could be a government-manufactured virus designed to control the population of Earth. And I loved how it was my choice, and I enjoyed reflecting on what each option would be like.

Snatcher -
totally thrilling from start to finish, with some wonderful plot twists. I grew to hate the Snatchers throughout the game. Finding out that you are Harry's father just when they kill him, and then seeing them kidnap Jamie, made it personal.

Shenmue - the game was emotional enough. The fact that the story will probably never be finished is heart breaking.

Ace Combat 5, it actually had believable and interesting characters compared to most of the other games
screw you shamrock, CHOPPPEERRRRRRRRRR

Also the end of shadow of the colossus was pretty surprising, and also sad (but happy at the end)

I can't believe no one has said this yet..

For me, it's Half Life 2: Episode 2.
Anyone who has completed it should know why. This also ties to Half Life being the only game where I really felt connected to the characters and felt like I was a part of the world, like no other game has ever done.

I also vote for Mass Effect:
When you have to choose if Kaiden or Ashley will die. That was really a moving moment the first play

For me, it was Legend of Zelda; Twilight Princess. The ending actually made me cry, the only game ever to do so.

If you haven't completed TP yourself, trust me it won't have the same impact. You need to have played the whole game yourself for it to really...work.

Homeworld.

Returning from the hyperdrive test first mission after fighting off pirates to find Karak destroyed. that made me angry and sad at the same time, giving me the drive to take on a galactic empire with three frigates and a handful of fighters.

You know, TP does actually have a pretty good ending as far as I can remember. The part where Midna is injured and you're carrying her around is also great.

I've said many times how Bioshock emotionally affecting on me, however recently I found Braid to really tug on the heart strings. I can really relate to the main character, Tim. It is a very human story.

kingdom hearts and ffx are good mentions. KH2 wasn't worth the time it took to play it imho.

Didn't make me cry, but there was definitely some emotion there. First time I really wanted to kill Ganon and MAKE HIM PAY for what he did to Midna.

Also worthy of note is Cave Story. The villian is just EVIL. One of the most innocent and loveable characters is force-fed the mutagenic red flowers, driving her beserk, the guy who tries to protect her is killed, and then YOU'RE forced to kill her due to her beserk state. And then your closest friend dies giving you her air-tank to save you from drowning. And then in the (sortof) final boss battle you have to fight ANOTHER of your close friends, who's possessed by the villain. Not to mention just returning to the Mimiga village to find it completely deserted. That game can hit you rather hard if you're in the right mood.

And Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I was very touched by the last scene, corny though it might have been.
