I recently bought myself a copy of the game ICO and I have to say its been a long time since I played a game good enough to touch my heart. So tell me a game that moved you on the inside. Hopefully you have played one, if not GO BUY ICO NOW!

There where a few instances in Nier that made me tear up a bit like when
Fyra dies.
I also bawled my eyes out when my dog in Fable 2 died, but luckily he got revived so everything was cool.

Mafia and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Both games have fully-formed, well rounded endings that conclude with a sincerity you don't often get in, well, anything. None of this ambiguous ending bollocks from games that set themselves up as character pieces and then decide to simply end in a way that they think is cool and hard-hitting (Mafia 2 a fair bit, and don't even get me started on Enslaved).

Anyway, each game has a strong message, one that is finely portrayed through the development of the characters.

That's about it really... I have ICO but I've never gotten very far in it ):
I've always found it weird: ffx does have a crap story and some ridiculous dialogue, so why does it keep drawing me in?!

EDIT: and I even liked the 2nd one somewhat aven though I KNEW it was bad! Oh well, I had fun I suppose, and that's what counts.

Lost Odyssey, the short story about the shoe maker. Hell, I remember that story more clearly than the main plot of the game.

Also, FFX. First game I played that actually tugged on the old heartstrings.

Red Dead Redemption. The final 'proper' mission ending just really got to me for some reason. It was just so brilliantly done.

Any Silent Hill game makes me bawl or cry.
Also, the ending of Star Wars The Force Unleashed I and II. I'm a girl who is moved by almost anything.

I always found FFX' story quite intriguing... also the dialogue is sometimes hilarious and sometimes brilliant.

It's not so much that I get stuck that I just give up... I like the style, I like the feel and I love how it plays.

But after about 20 minutes of playing I just lose interest...

One day I'll finish it.

Heavy Rain, no specific point, just the entire game, that shit is depressing. Fantastic game though.

Also, Shenmue towards the end of the game when:
The final conversation with Tom, when you see his plane fly off
I don't know why that scene in the entire game got me but at the time it did.

GTAIV to some extent too at:
Roman's wedding when Kate dies (or the ending in which she does at least)

I firmly believe that FFVII changed my life. It is my favourite game of all time and I doubt it'll be bested any time in the foreseeable future.

The first game that made me cry was Mega Man X, when Zero died. Seriously, I could not get over that for the longest time.

The only way games really make me emotional is through nostalgia. I'll remember a game I played YEARS ago and loved and just hearing the music from it or seeing something that reminds me of it makes me feel kind of happy-sad.

the end of Oswald's story in Odin sphere (i doubt anyone else has played this game, though)
Dom finding Maria in Gears 2
the ending to Prince of Persia 2008 (say what you want, i liked it!)
Squall in general from FF 8
Braid's climax
Halo Reach's epilogue (granted i hated the rest of the story for more reasons then i have room to list here)

this is what i can think of now, but im sure there are others

I would have liked FF 10 so much more if the main characters actors were better (the narration was great, the forced laughing... not so much)

and i'd love to go and buy Ico if anyone fucking sold it! seriously, the only place i can find it is for $80+ on amazon! its ridiculous

Okami. It might not be the best game ever, but it was one of those brilliant moments of coincidence where I really needed something to take my mind of certain events, and I had some free time to lose myself in another world.

The 4 days of Okami were one of my best gaming personally.

Tag...duh.

I actually thought Mass Effect 2 was moving. I genuinely cared about my crew and did not want to see any of them die. My favorite crew member, Mordin Solus, was the only one who did and this bummed me out big time. I was shocked that a video game could strike such a deep emotion in me.
