Are there any games that are just so perfect, in every single way, that it just makes you cry when you finish one? Portal 2. It...it's just perfect...no way to make it better....

Nope.

Perfection is an illusion.

EDIT: Now if we're talking something in a game... nope. I can't remember one, anyhow.

Well, there are only two games that brought tears to my eyes. Final Fantasy VII, my favourite game, made me tear up when Aeris bit the dust *spoiler warning*. On the other hand, Killer Instinct 2 made me cry laughing the first time I played it. I miss that series.

black ops. I cried for all the people who became addicted to such an imbalanced piece of erm..I lost my train of thought.....oh yea. And when they flame me It saddens me to see how thouroughly they've been brainwashed.

You're gonna laugh at me for this, but I teared up at both the light side ending to Force Unleashed and the ending to Dragon Age: Origins where I sacrificed my dwarf noble and Alistair gave my eulogy.

The only game that truly made me cry is Final Fantasy X (the ending).

Final Fantasy IX and One Chance (Flash game) both got really close too.

Mass Effect 2 had me swiftly rub away a few man tears during Miranda's loyalty mission.

Can't make anything perfect. There'll always be something to improve.

The ending to Half Life 2: Episode 2, however, was the closest I ever came to crying in response to a video game.

There is no such thing as a perfect game, not even Portal 2 (IMO!)
One scene at the end of Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops did make me cry though and that remains partly the reason why I still like that game better than Peace Walker.

I teared up in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War when Chopper's plane was too damaged to keep flying and he had to steer it to the stadium knowing he was going to die 'cause the ejector seat was broken.

Mother 3. If you don't cry or at least feel uneasy at any moment playing the game you are a monster.

Two points in Portal 2 nearly made me cry-
When GLaDOS was being torn apart, and at the end, with the turret aria.

And... silly as it sounds, I actually did cry a bit at the end of The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. I'd been a fan of Spyro since I played the first game, back in around '95, and while I didn't enjoy things much from 3 on (and even 2 and 3 were... hit and miss), I got back into it thanks to the Legend games. Dawn of the Dragon was very well done, the final straw was the dedication at the end of the credits.

Manly tears of nostalgia, people.

YES. I remember that scene. That had me going too.

As for me, it was the ending of MGS3, when you had to kill The Boss. Even Snake shed some manly tears. You can't say you didn't.

I watched the ending to that because it was posted in one of these threads, and even completely out of context with no emotional investment in the characters or the world or anything, it still caused a few manly tears.
