Good old days? If you're talking about the Golden Age of Gaming, the good ol' days are NOW. It's never been this good to be a gamer. Fallout 3, Gears 2, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, MGS4 and scores of others would have never been possible "back in the day."

Really? Dead Rising? I guess it can remind you of the "good old days" but it certainly isn't old enough to warrant being one of the games of the "old" era. Hmmm... games that remind me of the old days... honestly none do. No game makes me think "Oh man, this is what games were like before. This is back when games were good." I just don't get that. There were just as many bad games back then as there are now. Just as few good ones.

If we're talking games that make me think of my childhood though? Warcraft II and Age of Empires make me think of grade 4 and 5 Starcraft was more grade 5 and 6. Pretty much any game I owned on SNES makes me think of playing games with my brother. Honestly though, I'm just under 19, I don't think I'm old enough to have anything be "the good old days" for me.

Monkey Island was phenomenal. I love that game. Totally forgot about it. Discworld was awesome too. Pokemon, too. I had Silver though. Those were the days.

Jazz Jackrabbit! How could I have forgotten that one!

Good times, good times.

Good question. I'd go with Red Faction 2, Mario Kart: Double Dash and TimeSplitters 2. My friends and I burned away an entire summer playing those darn games. I don't know what it was about RF2, but I've never had a better split-screen, multiplayer experience. Ever.

Ms. Pac Man

It rouses memories of pizza, cigarette smoke filled, stale beer smelling, ambient sounds of pins crashing violently. The bowling alley where my parents league at every Wednesday, and Saturday during the 80's. That and using half the quarters I bummed from my dad to call the "for a good time" numbers scrolled on the restroom walls in the payphone. Thanks Tommy Tutone.

It's not that old, but I still say that 'Star Wars: Battlefront II' is probably the best game ever made (with the exception of the 'Tantive IV' level!).

-Commander Keen, specificallly number 4, but to a lesser extent all the others as well.

-Morrowind (if 2002 can be counted as "the good ol' days", whatever the case, I get an overwhelming nostalgic feeling every time I hear the Morrowind theme)

-Crash Bandicoot

Eye of the Beholder 2
Diablo
Master of Orion 2
The Secret of Monkey Island
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Rise of the Triad (Best 'God Mode' ever!)
Fantasy World Dizzy & Treasure Island Dizzy (- hell, I loved most of the Dizzy games.)

...and the original Toejam & Earl on the Genesis\Mega Drive - best 2-player mode ever. Really makes me nostalgic about weekends at my cousin's as a kid.

Is 'Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast' too 'young' for this?

EDIT: I totally forgot Wing Commander IV: the Price of Freedom. (It may not be the best game ever made, but man, I have such great memories of playing it.)
