For me it would be Bakugan: Battle Brawlers. I don't find anything bad about it and in fact I loved it. I have no idea why the critics hated it except it based from a show which most people hate. In my theory gamers, I mean hardcore ones hate to collect stuffs. They just want to shoot something, blow up something. They don't want to spend time collect and upgrade stuffs. However its quite biased since they can enjoy some racing with similar elements.

Another games which I enjoyed but critics hate are CSI(based on TV shows) games. Yes all of them, even though I personally prefer the newer ones. I'm not a big fan of the shows but the games are one of the best point-and-click adventure games I ever played but minus the adventure. You spend most of your time finding, collecting and processing evidences and this is where most critics hate. They also plays nothing like real cops normally do, which actually a good thing.

red faction guerrilla got some bad reviews but i love that game, i admit it could use some polishing and it would be nice if the unresponsive controls were fixed but its still a very fun game.

Risen

Playing "Risen".

Calling it a wannabe Morrowind clone would give a pretty good snapshot of the game. But that would be selling it short.

It does look like morrowind (the swamps that I am currently in, look alot like the muddy starting area of Morrowind). And "Risen" even has a similar setup to the plot/story. Your just some un-named guy that got washed up onto an island during a storm.

One note worthy difference : You dont create your character. You play as the one and only main character, with no customization (your a bald british guy). Minus a bazillion points going into the game

The first thing that strikes me, is how hard the game is. Unless I am doing something wrong, this game is pretty brutal. Right from the beginning, monster are killing me with just a few blows. They are attacking and killing me, even before I find my first weapon.
Until I found my first shield, I took A LOT of damage.

I was actually chased around the starting area, by two beasts, as I looked for my first weapon (that an NPC had told me was on the beach some where).

It seems like im under-leveled. The game plays, like i'm level 1 and everything less is level 5. Most fights involve me hitting my enemy a dozen times (or more), before they can kill me with just 3 or 4 hits. There is no auto health recovery, and eating cooked food only recovers a little bit of health (thats right, you have to you have to kill animals, take their meat, cook it, then eat it. And that will award you a little bit of damage recovery).

I am not really sure what the story is about. Ive spent nearly all of my time in and around the bandit village, where no one is telling me anything of substance.

Im just trying to survive. The Beasts look like pathetic starter enemies (boars, bugs, and such) but they are kicking my ass up and down. I resorted to attacking them, then running back to the village, where the guards finish them off. Then I can loot the bodies.

Like I said, I am just concerned with surviving right now. Each encounter is life and death. I have died and/or restarted probably two dozen times, in three hours.

So while it may "look" like Morrowind, it is playing out like some sort of brutal forest survival game.

And Im kinda digging it. I have just gotten a new weapon, and I am fighting a bit better than I did. But it still seems like my enemies have an advantage over me.

Kirby Air Ride. I enjoyed it and the multiplayer was original and fun imo. I'll admit it was an extremely simple game, but definitely better than the 5.1 gamespot gave it.

Sonic Unleashed.

I thought the day levels were some of the best in Sonic's history, or, at least the most fast and fluid.

Zoids Battle Legends for the Gamecube. It got average to poor reviews but I loved that game so much that I regret ever selling it.

well, if you consider the saying "everyone's a critic" and then consider that everyone on the internet hates everything for no reason other than to hate it... just about every game I've ever enjoyed.

Lair I think it was called. Everyone complained about the flight controls and everything and while I see how they can be frustrating the game was too damn fun.

Define hate.

I enjoyed The Witcher immensely, but it got rather poor reviews.

There were a couple of old PS1 RPGs that I enjoyed that didn't rate so highly. Those were Guardian's Crusade and Shadow Madness.

11 million + unique accounts on World of Warcraft says you need to study up before coming up with your next theory.

Then there's Everquest, Eve, Runescape, Warhammer, Fallen Earth, etc, ad infinitum.

Hated by fellow CoD players world wide... in my experience.
Yea, but those are people who love MW2 so they don't count. =P

This.

CoD5: WaW, Mirrors Edge and Beyond Good and Evil. Along with Dawn of War and F.E.A.R..

Fear is supposedly at IW level lame if you listen to most people, but it was one of the best games I played in ages. Granted, I'd been 4 days without sleep in the middle of exams and had been reading H. P. Lovecraft, but it was bloody brilliant.

Mirrors Edge and BGaE have been slammed by people everywhere, again, extremely fun. M.E. is like playing through Virtual Light by William Gibson. Can't get much better.

WaW had zombies included, and the last level rushing a German control centre was insanely fun. People everywhere just waiting to be shot, beaten up and naded. :D

Dawn of War and it's sequel are.. Marvelously fun IMO, not worth the term "RTS" if you speak to others.

I don't want to go on an angry rant but I feel like many are using the term hate very loosely. Generally positive reviews on metacritic don't even come close to critical hatred. Every time I see a thread like this the terms seem to get more diluted.

Hmmm, strange I can't think of any.

I can think of lots of games I hated that critics loved though... Prince of Persia 2008, Far Cry 2, Assasin's Creed 1, Devil May Cry 4... etc etc

That sounds pretty interesting. What platform is it on? If it's multi-platform, what would you suggest I get it on?
