Anyway, Shadow of the Colossus. What I wouldn't give to play that game with improved graphics and slightly better controls. Not that the controls were bad but..damn it was hard aiming that bow at times.
As much as I loved FF8's story...the damned junctioning system just pissed me off. =[Datsle said:What? Garbage? FF8, along with FF6 is in my opinion one of the few FF's worth playing again and again.Wait a minute did you just say FF8, what seriously... That game's garbage.
Anyhoow, id kinda have to say.

Awesome!
Justify your statement of FF8... I'm sincerely curious. And yeah, I'm biased as hell, that was my first PS game (I bought my PS REALLY late, so yeah). Absolutely love the game, and the junction thing was awesome and it provided a deeper mechanic than just leveling like crazy. In fact, if you go to gamefaqs.com you can see people used the junction system to get through the entire game as lvl 1's.Xvito said:Wait a minute did you just say FF8, what seriously... How about Conker's Bad Fur Day or Perfect Dark.

Also I don't think that any game should be remade. The developers could instead do something useful, like make a fun and original title.
MMO's would so kill those games. (btw, how does one even start to consider a Adventure MMObrighteye said:How about a Chrono Trigger MMO ?

The junctioning is in my opinion one of the biggest flaws in the game. They made it overly complicated. Drawing was also a terrible thing.VZLANemesis said:Justify your statement of FF8... Sorry, don't really feel like watching those videos, I'm really not a fan of that guy.Vlane said:The junctioning is in my opinion one of the biggest flaws in the game. They made it overly complicated. Drawing was also a terrible thing.
The game itself wasn't written very well too. Some characters (Ciefer for example) really needed better dialogue.
But it's probably better if you watch these videos [http://www.spoonyexperiment.com/category/final-fantasy-viii/page/2/].
If it is really that simple then why did we need two (as far as I remember) tutorials for that?VZLANemesis said:Sorry, don't really feel like watching those videos, I'm really not a fan of that guy.
But, seriously? Overly complicated? Draw powerful spells, Feeling lazy? select auto-junction, select either attack, defense or magic. Feeling like a good RPG player, experiment some try what you like best. Drawing was in my opinion cool as hell, drawing magic from your opponents and using it on them, not only does it go with the whole theme of the game, but its a cool mechanic.
JRPG's (especially FF) should be written well and have great stories but FF VIII apparently was an exception.VZLANemesis said:The game not being written well? I believe FFs and RPGs in general are the best games at telling stories, specially JRPGs and the story was interesting and awesome.
VZLANemesis said:You mean Seifer? He's a crappy crappy antagonist to have, I'll give you that (don't remember him having any memorable lines). But still, the character looked cool and the path he followed was brilliant to keep him as an antagonist all through the story.
I concur wholeheartedly with your point. I loved that game and it had completely escaped my mind until your post. It would be an amazing game to play online!Leviathan902 said:GENERAL CHAOS

Please tell me someone played/loved this game as much as i did.
The single player was complete shite (it had rts-style troop commands for a squad of 5 cartoony-characters that died in hilarious ways), mostly because the d-pad didn't work well for moving the cursor around, but the coop was awesome. Each player controlled 2 guys (you only issued commands such as wait, follow, fire, and switch character) and you tried to take down the AI opponent which got progressively difficult with each map.
This would be awesome on Live with online-play, maybe an updated overworld where each territory capture gave you a bonus. Noone who has every played this game with a buddy didn't love it. I declare this to be fact.
I can agree with that to some point, and it was REALLY hard getting into the system, but it could give you a nice advantage if you learned how to use it, just not enough of an advantage to really bother =/ I liked that the whole thing was much more of a love story than before. As much as I loved FF8's story...the damned junctioning system just pissed me off. =[
Does Alan Wake count? Also, I disagree about the graphics, I thought they were really stylish, though technically inferior to other games of the time, their style means Max Payne's graphics ages much better.Fignutz said:I'd like to see Max Payne get a graphical overhaul. I loved the storytelling but the gameplay was a bit clunky(especially the movement and jumping) and even back when it was released I thought it looked fugly.
