What games do you think have the highest death tolls?

My choices are the Left 4 Dead Series, and every Total War game ever. Obscene casualty rates.

Considering the core gameplay mechanic has you mindlessly slaughtering thousands per level, with so many levels played... Left 4 Dead.

Ignoring any online game, I would say any open world game, since there are millions of people to kill. Like Red Dead Redemption. Can you even imagine how many people you could kill? Imagine how high the count would be if you included animals. It could go into the thousands.

Were there not an article about a CoD game where in the worlds population had been slaughtered rather quickly?

damn it, ninja'd, barring that though, because playing a game of nuclear war is just unfair, Left 4 dead would probably take the totally real and not at all a lie cake

Easy one: Lemmings. Seriously, every time you fail a level, thats 100. Every level past the tutorial has at least 10 fails (conservative estimate)and there are literally MILLIONS of levels between the the series and expansions of various types. Not to mention that lots of levels require a certain number of lemmings to commit suicide to clear. And thats before you get to the awful control scheme on the PSP version which will send many more Lemmings counting down to the inevitable explosion.

I bought Red Dead less than a week ago and apparently I've already killed over 600 people and over 500 animals... And I haven't even done any GTA style killing sprees yet. That's just from the story missions alone.

Christ alone knows what my GTA IV death toll is...

Has anyone here ever played the flash game pandemic? That had a pretty impressive body count.

Going for Left 4 Dead again. More the second I'd say, judging by the mess I usually leave once I've got busy with the chainsaw.
Probably also the game with the best average K/D spread of all players.

Just Cause 2.
(but to be honest, EVE Online, as many of the standard NPC battleships have crews of thousands and you can destroy several in a single mission.)

I know, right? By the time I finished play Red Dead, I had killed over 5000 people. And I was playing as a generally nice guy.
