When you were a kid, and you had to save your money for weeks upon weeks, just to buy a game, was it worth it? What game was it? Was it good? I bought Metroid Prime 3(I'm fourteen), and I didn't like it that much. The levels are confusing, the difficulty is boned, the puzzles are easy or too weird to think about. But then again, people have always told me the first two were the best in the series. I also bought a friend Darksiders, and we both played it, and we both hated it.

You had to buy your own games? o_O my dad is a gamer as well and I just played his games...which were RE1, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 007, and then I got Pokemon Snap at some point as well. They were all awesome.

The first two games I can remember buying with my own money were Abe's Oddysee and Tomba, actually >__>. Both were fantastic though, as far as I can remember. Haven't played them in years.

As for games that weren't worth it....I remember being disappointed in Mission Impossible for the N64. As far as more recent titles go, Farcry 2 was somewhat disappointing as well. At least for the price I paid for it.

Hmm..As a kid I rarely bought my own games, and if I did it as birthday money or gift cards. Though I remember picking up a copy of Final Fantasy 7 when I was about twelve at some toy outlet store. Beyond that I may have bought other games before that, maybe earned some for chores and stuff, but I can't remember for sure.

I bought Fighting Force 2 two weeks ago for the Dreamcast and it's complete ass. There is no way of knowing what to do I played two minutes of the first level and never touched it again.

Just look how crappy the guy flying looks. I should have known better.

EDIT: Did I do the the image right? I look at the guidline and I was confused.

I knew very little about video games as a child so I ended up buying a lot of movie tie in games. They were all so terrible, I weep for that wasted time. But there where good games too, such as the original Spyro the Dragon, and the original Pokemon games.

your pic is dead and I really want to see it.
Allow me to:

My dad always bought games for me when I was growing up, but I do remember buying Glover 64 when I was 7. So yeah, my first purchase was a terrible one.

Anyway, hmm, did not save up for my games. My mom had this weird "invisible allowance" crap going on so she got me a new game every once in awhile

The first game I bought with my own money was Megaman Legends 2...

Well, It was kinda my money, but not my money... I was supposed to buy my lunch with it, but I decided to just starve for several weeks so I could afford it...

Also, Yes it was worth it, and It was awesome... Only downside... After a 10+ year wait, the sequel will be for the 3DS... misery...

My parents bought most games for me when I was a child, and pretty much until I got my first job when I was... 17 or 18, I think. >.> But the first games I owned were FFVII, FFVIII, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Twisted Metal, Diablo, and a few others.

As for the first games I ever bought myself, I honestly have no idea. Those two stages kind of melt into one another.

Metroid Prime 1 was the best, then 3, then 2. Number 2 is hated because of it's Dark World being annoying.

I have Darksiders. It wasn't amazing, but it had a different feel to me, ands I think it has a lot of potential considering I thought the ending was completely badass.

Ok, games I bought after I stopped just playing my brother's games...
TimeSplitters 2
The big question is why is it harder for me to play that game now than then?

I can't remember the first one. The only one I remember was buying Timesplitters 2 immediately after playing it at a friend's house. I ran down to the local video rental shop and bought it. Many fun days were had after that.

My first game, that I bought for my own money was for the Nintendo Gamestation...
It was Looney Toons Basketball or something in that direction.. It was AWESOME... for a 7 year old kid who owned the "Space Jam" movie on VHS-video...
