I personally do not like Left 4 Dead. But I respect it. What it does, it does VERY well. But I just don't like mindlessly killing zombies ni co-op with no sense of progress or Valve's storytelling.
I do not like Super Mario 64. But that may just be because I only played the shitty DS version that made jumping in a diagonal direction a huge hassle.
I don't like the Street Fighter games, but I respect the dedication that they inspire in people. And the fan service with ports and remixes.

I am not a huge fan of any of the sports games. But I see the amount of effort put into them and I respect them for that. I just don't like playing sports. And I really don't like playing them when I don't even get to do it myself but just controlling people around with my thumbs

Most recently, Pro Evo and FIFA. I fell out of love with them about 2 years ago but still respect them as they have to work and get all the licences so you can play as the real teams instead of Man Red or Middlebrook. They also let you build your dream team and become a manager of sorts.

I do not like Super Mario Brothers, but I can see the appeal, and maybe people just had different standards back then.

I highly dislike fighting games. I don't have the time to memorize combos and can't really adapt well to that style of play, but I certainly respect the amount of time and effort it takes to become skilled at playing them, especially in games where every character plays in a substantially different fashion.

Mirror's Edge. For being different.

Also I like the idea of a first-person parkour game, and that part of the game was okay, but it was far to linear which just about goes against the nature of parkour, which is experimentation to find the quickest route (not the only route), and going wherever you want.

Metal Gear Solid is an agony to play. The controls are not designed to do anything right, and it is really a 'stealth' game in name and nothing else - every encounter boils down to trying to sneak, getting caught, and gunning your way out of it. That said, I still respect the first game for its incredible storytelling. It blew my mind on the level of mature, complex narrative a game could tell. On the second playthrough everything sounded a LOT sillier, but at the time, I found the monologues and twists poignant and riveting.

Farcry 2. Epic... check. Immersive... check. Stunning... check. Fun... well it's just too much travelling for my liking.

Grand Theft Auto IV. It was telling a great story and showing a truly fascinating glimpse of the immigrant experience, but it just didn't work as a Grand Theft Auto game. I think I would have liked it a lot more if it hadn't been called 'Grand Theft Auto', but had been an independent game in its own right.

FarCry 2... for it's fire physics, and absolutely nothing else (worst game of 09).

Guitar Hero. No other game has made so many people think they were bad ass musicians when really they were just gamers with too much time on their hands.

For sure this

Also, I would like to add Final fantasy.

I could see where it is appealing, and they look like great games, but I could never get into them

Call of Duty Mw 1+2

I don't like the games personally, but I can deny that they aren't good because of their massive popularity

Kind of?

I mean, Reviewers don't throw 9s and 9.5s at games that suck. And selling 7 million copies on day one probably means that the game is good.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 + 2

I see why they are great games. I really do. It's just that I seem to prefer a lot of other games over them. They just don't maintain my interest.

I never really understood the craze with Modern Warfare; I actually find Call of Duty 2 to be a lot more fun (for whatever reason), but I can respect the huge fan following it has, and it's not like I despise it, I just don't get it.

Yes they do. See Halo.
