Because they got on your nerves. For me it was Killzone 2, Gears of war and Zeno clash for the PC.

Killzone 2 because the drab, grey enviroments and incredibly boring attempts to make a story completely made me stop caring. Time played: first 6 levels or so and a few rounds of multiplayer.

Gears of war had roughly the same reasons as above with the added bonus of horrible controls. time played: maybe 3 hours.

Zeno clash because... well... A first person fighting game where the very first level has instant death pits is a great way to make a player say "fuck this."

So how about it Escapist forumites? What games simply disgusted you into stopping play?

Final Fantasy VIII - Just could not get into it. At all. IDK why. Love 7, 9, X, X-2... Hate 8.

Star Ocean III: Till The End of Time - One of the worst games I ever tried to play, frankly.

Fallout: New Vegas.
It was riddled with bugs and mediocre when it wasn't crashing. Same goes for Oblivion and Fallout 3, although that was less riddled with bugs and more boring.

Well 8 is the black sheep of the family, everyone seems to hate it.

Too human. Maybe I should have tried the Co-op. But another player wouldn't help the horrible combat, the craptacular story, or the horrible graphics.

Also, Medal of Honour. I got to the last mission and then just got bored. It's been along time since a game bored me to point of not wanting to finsh it. Props for doing it on the last mission as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops. I was really willing to try with that game. I like the single player campaign (it had just that blend of crypto-bullshit and white-knuckle-ride insanity that appeals to me) but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it and to this day I don't know why.

I think it might be cause I decided to dip into multiplayer and effectively ruined it for myself with the rage that experience produced.

I never finished VIII either. It took me ages to finish VII and IX though because of faulty memory cards that kept needing reformatting. I loved VIII simply because you could break it through copious, copious, grinding.

---

Quest 64. I only played it as a youngster and really couldn't get into it. Luckily it was a rental.

Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear 4: They were both loaded down with meandering, bloated, over-stuffed videos that told me little about what was going on. I can't remember how far I made it in MGS4 but I definitely beat 2 major bosses. Final Fantasy XIII, I made it to chapter 11, saw no improvement and, forever turned that thing off.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2...I think...I dunno, I played through the first level but hated the controls and really couldn't get into it.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl. The controls, even with the gamecube controller, seemed really loose. Also, I didn't care for the way any of the new characters controlled...granted, I don't remember playing as Kid Icarus or, King Dedede. It wasn't Melee so I didn't play it much after several training sessions.

inFamous. It started off promising enough but the missions just started getting tedious. I hated the platforming and then I realized that you have to go through the same exact sewers to unlock new powers. I may try it again though since the sequel is out but at the time I just said "no more of this repetitious crap" and turned the thing off.

Yakuza 3 got too repetitive for me and I know it's a pretty long game so I really didn't feel like finishing it.

FFVIII. After I couldn't figure out where to go on the 3rd disc I decided to stop trying to figure out where to go. Turned it off. Haven't touched it since.

Bioshock 2, played it for 5 minutes and realised it's just the first one with crappier combat. Shame really the art design is incredible.

Infinite undiscovery. The main character was so unlikable in the beginning I couldn't play any further to see if it gets better. Prototype because I got to the helicopter mission and couldn't complete it.

I still haven't finished:
Witcher
Fallout NV
DAO
Oblivion

In the case of the first three, my interest in the story was overpowered with my boredom of the game mechanics. Oblivion I was ticked off with the autoadjusting difficulty that made the game a treadmill.

Grand Theft Auto 4 really boring missions with dumb attempts at humor and no mid mission checkpoints

It just felt like a chore to just play the game

Oblivion because I couldn't be arsed to go to EVERY. FUCKING. CITY. And close an Oblivion Gate in EACH. FUCKING. ONE.
And Red Dead Redemption. It just dragged on FOR EVERRRR.
