Exactly what the title says, what's a game concept you'd love to see made, but due to reality you know will most likely never get made?

me personally I'd love to see an open world spiritual successor to Deadly Creatures, but I don't think I'll see it within my lifetime because last I checked Deadly Creatures didn't sell very well (due to being on the Wii only and thus overshadowed by Mario, Zelda, and any other first party titles on the system)

Sadness, a cancelled game for the Wii. From what I've read they never even got close to starting to make the game, but the trailer alone was alluring.

I still dream, late at night when there is just silence and memory, that Suikoden VI will come out. There are still so many stories to tell in that universe.
But alas, Konami decided to jump off a cliff, so...

I want a true sequel to Star Control 2.... And that will unfortunately never happen.

My only real hope is that Kings Quest will make enough that a Space Quest sequel and a Gabriel Knight sequel will be made

A war game where you can play every side of the conflict and there's a realistic (high) amount of civilian casualties.
Either a shooter or shooter/rpg like fallout. Any conflict would be good, WW2 would be most epic and also controversial.

Even more bonus points if you go home after the war with PTSD, are ignored, and starve.

I am not anti war but I would like a game that shows in war there are only 2 rules.
1. Survive
2. Kill the enemy

I still don't know why Sonic 4: Episode 3 was not released.

I get that Sonic 4: Episode 1 had it's share of bugs and an unwanted homing attack, but Episode 2 was an amazing sequel that not only incorporated Tails in a meaningful way, but was definitely geared towards welcoming a new installment.

*sigh*

I guess their goes our HD remake of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles.

I'd like an Elder Scrolls game to have the look of Skyrim, the NPCs of Oblivion, set in Vvardenfell and have the skills from Daggerfall. Fuck Arena as that game was a buggy mess.

Maybe have the quests from Oblivion too, some of them were just too much fun.

I'd also experiment with an Animal Crossing, Silent Hill cross over because why not.

Star Citizen!... Oh come one don't have a go at me for that one.

In all seriousness a proper Metroid Prime game for the Wii U. I mean come on Nintendo you have to know babies first bionicle for the N64 was going to have some backlash.

Something like Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy, or even a remake/sequel to it. I just really liked that game growing up, but replaying it now I can easily get through with very little casualty because I know every level like the back of my hand.

More games like Dark Souls. I'm not (just) on about the game play, but the feel of the game, the level design, the way it explores its lore via the environment rather then exposition.

Oh, I could practically write a whole book on this subject! So many games I'd like to see but I know will probably never be made, either because they wouldn't appeal to very many people beyond me or they wouldn't be considered "acceptable" for whatever reason.

If I have to give only one example, I'll go with a "Conan the Barbarian" game that's true to the setting. "The Witcher 3" probably came the closest to me, but I'd still love to see it someday.

Master of Magic 2, Stardock has the rights but they decided to just sit on it, very dissapointing. But we have Age of Wonders 3 so I'm more or less happy.

Project H.A.M.M.E.R. canceled wii game about smashing things with a hammer with motion controls. Imagine it on the Wii U with the Wii Motion Plus with some sort of engine like Red Faction.

A sequel to Sword of the Stars 1, not sword of the stars 2 which I think failed on many, many levels outside of being a buggy mess. It pissed me off soooo freakin much what they did with practically everything about that game to add more steps to every single action and make it a tedious mess to play. It makes me so sad as well because SOTS 2 was achingly beautiful and if it played like SOTS 1 did it would have been fantastic.

John Madden Football 1988, I just can't see this one becoming a series.

E.V.O. Search for Eden, Snes game that pre-dated spore by more than a decade its a bit of a grindy rpg about evolving but I had a lot of fun messing around trying to create new creatures, I think it could really benefit from modern game design so there isn't just one answer as to what is the best part to use.

I've had a few pieces of vaporware in mind:

Master of Magic [http://www.mobygames.com/search/quick?q=Master+of+Magic] - While it was re-released as a patched version in 2010, This is oddly one I'd really like to see with some new visuals. Mechanics are fine, AI could use a tweak and some added skills/spells would be nice.

Knights of Legend [http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/knights-of-legend] - As a fantasy RPG, this one stands out as one of my all-time favorites in spite of having more bugs than an abandoned house. It has an excellent story and awesome mechanics just tweak up the UI, fix most of the bugs and it would be an excellent game. It's a bit of a shame that this game disappeared a little while later, probably something to do with a legal tiff between Origin and its author. :(

Perhaps I'm just looking with nostalgia glasses, but I'd really love to see again.

Dawn of War 3. Or hell, I'll settle for any Warhammer 40k that feels like Warahmmer. No shoehorned pseudo-romance or fluster cuck of armies.
I mean Orks vs Imperium? Sure. Eldar in there too? Yeah...all right.
Chaos Marines? That's pushing it.
Tau? Come on now.
Darn Eldar? That's enough.
Necrons?! Seriously. Stop.
Tyranids?! Emperors mercy, stop.

Its terrible.

I'd love a sequel to The World Ends With You. The iOS port teased the possibility of one, but so far there's been no news.

I'd also love a third Dark Cloud game, but I fear that that's even more unlikely. There were rumors that for this year's E3, Level-5 was gonna announce a new PS4 RPG, which some people assumed would be a new Dark Cloud game, but alas, they didn't announce anything.

A new, better, Black & White. What the fuck happened to Black and White? I loved that game, mostly the second one.

They could have made it so much better, too. Better miracles, better ways to use influence, more things to do with your city- ugh, the potential. And it seems like nobody really remembers it any more.

So many good yet heartbreaking suggestions already.

DoW3 and Master of Magic2 stand out to me.

I'd love to see another x-wing/tie fighter game.
Maybe building on the way alliance changed things up a bit.
Either going with the whole tramp freighter captain, ship modding, spice smuggling, imperial dodging han solo fantasy in an open universe or the traditional campaign format.
What I'd hope though is the graphics, while improved, would keep the detail at a level which would allow the scale of the game to be truly epic.

A new Dune RTS. But then again, with the renewed interest in Dune, it could always be possible.
There's renewed interest in Dune?!? *looks around excitedly* Where?! Seriously though, yeah a Dune game would be sweet. I'd personally like to see a Dune stealther/sandbox game. Where you play as one of the Feydakin, and infiltrate various Harkonnen facilities and sabotage them. You even have to traverse the desert, and can call up worms to ride to travel the vast reaches of the deep wastes to the next location. Sort of like how Wind Waker or AC: Black Flag did with the ocean, but instead it's sand and SANDWORMS BABY!!. You can collect your enemies water as extra supplies for later to support your siech, work from region to region to try and reclaim the planet for The People. Damn I want that game to exist.

Another one I would like to see would be more of an idea, than a specific IP. Some game that is sort of city builder, but is a first person version, as well as a top-down builder. You can make the wide-scale plans on the big map, and then zoom down to control your leader directly, to watch the people building your structures. In my head, it's a fantasy game, and you could have magical powers of the elements, and if you chose to, you could use those powers to assist your people in building, instead of just fighting. Create earth to provide them a surplus of building materials that turn, making construction faster, or perhaps use earth magic to improve crops, or to bring in more water to stave off a drought. But in doing so, you are not using your powers for the potential warfront. So there is a tradeoff. Be the elemental badass general that sweeps his enemies away from him, or the kindly architect leader, who uses his powers to make his people's lives better.

I'd like to see another Mark of Kri game as well, because damn I loved those games. The story of them was presented so well, it just makes me grin. Though I'm sure the property isn't going anywhere. *le sigh*

An Arcanum sequel or reboot like the kind of thing that Bethesda did with Fallout. The first games setting and ideas were great but the implementation was horrible which is a shame.
