Today was a good day for me, up until the point that I got a call from my local Gamestop. The employee said in a chirpy voice,
"Hi, this is Gamestop. We have your Final Fantasy preorder ready. Will you be picking it up today?"
This greatly confused me as the only game I've had preordered for month's has been the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3. I explained to him that he either had the wrong game or the wrong customer, but her was certain this game was mine. So I did some explaining to him. I quickly got money put down on Mass Effect 3 right after I was able to. However, a few weeks after that, my very old Xbox 360 died its inevitable death of a red ring. I went to Gamestop and had the preorder changed from 360 to PC. I wouldn't have my old saves, but I would still have the game. I then paid it all off shortly thereafter. But then I got a new Xbox 360! Fully functional with no red rings. So I went back to my local Gamestop and had them change my preorder a 2nd time from the PC back to the Xbox 360.
That's apparently where things got sketchy. The kid who changed my preorder the second time didn't change it from "ME3 on PC" to "ME3 on Xbox". He instead put the $80-someodd American dollars I spent on it onto the latest Final Fantasy game.
I explained everything to the Gamestop employee who called me and he did indeed have computer records detailing all of this. However, my local Gamestop is now sold-out of ME3 Collector's Editions and won't be able to get me a copy, even though I bought and paid for one month's ago. He said he would contact his District Manager on Monday and get back to me with options.
So what should I do Escapees? I am frankly pissed right now and would love to march down to Gamestop and get my money back, but should I wait until Monday and give Gamestop the chance to rectify their mistake?
