GameX Escapist Meet-Up

As you may know, The Escapist is an official sponsor of the GameX convention [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/press/6106-GameX-Announces-The-Escapist-as-Game-Consumer-Media-Partner]. We're proud to be taking part in the convention (Philadelphia, Oct 23-25) and to celebrate we're planning on throwing a huge meet up.

The details are still in the works, but in the meantime we want to know how many of you would be interested in making the trek to Philly to meet up with the staff and other fellow Escapists. At this point we're really just trying to get a sense of scope. How stonking big is this thing going to be?

We're eager to hear your ideas and suggestions as well.

I'd have to cross the Atlantic so I'm not gonna be much help.

Alas, I will be unable to attend the meet up. You'll have to take pictures for us not going.

Damn you! Damn you all to hell! I'd go in a heartbeat if I could.

By way of advice from the Escapisms we've had here:
-Have a flag. The bigger the better.
-Film it, photograph it, record it on tape but ask people before posting media of them as some can be opposed to it.
-Have a few Australians.
-Invite everyone out for laser tag and food afterwards.
-Have at least one person under 20 willing to turn up early to meet the other under 20s because otherwise we can get shy.
-Wing it as much as possible as that adds to the excitement.
-Bring pens for autographs.
-Offer to pay for air tickets for overseas people. (Oh yes.)

Hmm I might be able to get out to that, I need to get out of school more this year and a trip to a video game convention in Philly sounds like a great idea. Count me as a definite maybe. Hell I could probably hit up the local bars and open mic nights along the way.


Also, I loved the idea of us going out to laser tag and pizza afterwards, seems like a blast.

That's actually not too far from where I live (in the grand scheme of things, it's still 2 states away), I would be very interested in going, time and money permitted.
