Great article in Foreign Policy Magazine, (a fairly prominent foreign policy journal) engages in an interview with Call of Duty: Black Ops developers, and the discussions of whether or not such a dystopian future is a possibility. Considering that it is a magazine that is read by actual diplomats and powerful players (from what I understand) it has some significance.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

The content itself is nothing extraordinary (although the consultant does seem pretty well read), but simply the fact that video games are becoming this mainstream and this influential is... quite something.

Black Ops 2 is essentially Doom 200. Now go back in time and tell iD that Doom 200 would be featured in a foreign policy magazine, and not in a "look at all these evil video games corrupting our children" sort of way, I bet it would blow their minds.

Because they were probably stoned.

But it would have blown their minds regardless.
