I have heard people say that there are some women that would lie and say that they liked gaming to impress them, I can't say I have ever met anyone who has lied to impress me... Knowingly anyway.

Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever thought "Wow, she is beautiful... I don't believe that she is a gamer, not even for a second"? Are you less inclined to believe that a physically attractive woman is also a gamer?

EDIT: People seem to think I implied that attractive women are less liely to play games, I didn't... see ^^^)

(Lets try to keep the sexism to a minimum, actually if the negativity could be avoided altogether that would be great)

EDIT: I am fairly trusting, if you tell me something about yourself who am I to think you are lying? I think I would find it fairly flattering, but I wouldn't point out the lie... maybe I could use it to introduce the lady to casual gaming if not the crazy, hardcore kind. :D

Oh, I think this might actually include most of you guys on here... Have you ever lied to a woman about your gaming habits, maybe added another lie about your "excercise" routine?

Also, women are totally free to join in this... because I know you are out there, in quite large numbers too... it would actually help us male gamers with the workings of the female gamers mind. :D

Question 1's answer: I haven't met anyone like that. Most of the women I know are gamers, though.

Question 2's answer: Why would someone who's attractive not be as inclined towards video games as anyone else? Looks don't really mean anything in terms of what that person might like.

Edit's response: I am the person who first invented bacon. Bow down before me.

Edit: Stop changing your avatar Max. It makes it hard to find your posts in threads.

I'll usually start a conversation about games, which I do with any gamer, and that's how I find out if said attractive woman is actually a gamer or full of crap.

I've never been encountered by a girl that claimed to be a gamer, and I'd probably be able to tell if they were lying anyway.

I have a bit of a sixth sense about lying. When people lie to me, their necks seem more exposed, and I have a desire to locate their aorta, just in case.

I don't think your physical appearance has anything to do with your past times. Of course other than being and athlete and in turn having an athletic body. I have never met a girl who lies about liking video games and I could care less whether a girl I was interested in gamed or not.

Yes, I've had people lie to me to impress me.

No, attractive people will play video games.

Alright well. I knew a few girls that did this. Don't get me wrong though. My friend's girlfriend is stunningly gorgeous and she's a big [legitimate] gamer.

One of my buddy's ex-girlfriend however.. well .. was a huge attention whore. She would talk about how much of an awesome hunter in WoW she was when her boyfriend leveled her character and bought everything she needed. She also would try to hold Halo/SSMB tournaments at her house when she never owned a console and only played the games once - at my house.

I also remember one time when my buddies and I were talking about how the gaming industry developed and whatnot, and she butted in the conversation saying, "NO! Super Mario was the first gamer ever created!" .. I didn't even bother to argue that. The statement enough was too full of fail.

I know these incidents sound weird, but you would not believe how many guys thought she was an actual gamer.

Being kind of a sociopath helps my lying seem more genuine, I'm quite good at it. But usually when I do lie it's completely for my own amusment and entertainment and not real personal gain.

And actually you would be suprised at the amount of pretty girls that play games. I know a girl who's super hot and a hardcore WoW player... the ice locking, frost damgaging, kiting ***** of a mage that she is, she's super cool. I met her at her work and we just started talking about shit and she brought up the subject of games, not me.

They do exhist, and I don't see how your physical appearance would really affect what you do on your spare time.

Are you sure that you aren't just a vampire with a strange lying fetish?

On most occasions, no, the lies completely sucked and I could see right through them. And yes, I'm one to call people out of stuff that doesn't sound correct.

I know a few more-than-decently-attractive woman (read hot) who play video games, and I've seen them play firsthand. Because they lived on my floor in residence. We were a tight knit group, we'd play Smash Bros, Soul Calibur, and Pokemon Stadium. There's also this girl who was practically raised by Final Fantasy.

Also my ex girlfriend would beat the bosses in Resident Evil 4 for her dad.

I'm going to say that when a beautiful woman tells you she's into video games, she's likely telling you the truth.

Girl: Oh yeah, I'm totally into online FPSs!

Me: Cool, want to play some Team Fortress 2 later?

Girl: Whaa..?

Me: It's an online FPS

Girl: Oh ok, I like those games like Maylo!

Me: Maylo...?

Girl: That one where you play that green knight guy in space.

/facepalm

I've never met any like that, however I have met a few women who were really good at hiding the fact that they were gamers, which I actually do find somewhat impressive if not used for petty theatrics.
