Fellow Escapists.

I have a family with a wife and three growing boys (one teen and two smaller) and we all like to game. We have limited space (I live in the UK and our houses and rooms are smaller and need to fulfill more than one function unlike many in the US).

At the moment I have my wife on an iPad, one son in his bedroom with a chromebook, one on the family PC in the office leaving me and my youngest with the console in the living room or a DS.

I have a plan to bring us all (or at least some of us) into one place for co-op or multiplayer gaming side-by-side - either as a family - or to get my sons to bring friends over for an event, but I have hit a bump in trying to think about how to best choose gaming platforms and gaming furniture to fit our modest house and budget.

If you were trying to create a gaming space to support up to three people playing games side by side - how would you go about it? Three consoles and three gaming chairs with three TVs - what would you put the TVs on? How would you arrange the chairs? What about PC gaming - can you combine a console set-up with PC set-up? How could you do this most efficiently - one mega server and some light clients or do I need three gaming machines?

I'm just looking for some ideas for this year and I wondered if there was anyone else who had done or was thinking about the same thing. Thank you for your thoughts.

What I suggest, is that you find your local auction house. You will be able to buy a gateleg table for under 50 quid. When you want to game, you put the leaves up which gives you plenty of space for 3 consoles/PCs and screens, but will fold down into much smaller space when not in use.

You will need 3 gaming machines, games drm do not like the server/client relationship.
