Other than finishing games, I usually have a goal to achieve a skill level I find satisfactory. For single-player games, I play on higher difficulty levels, and for multiplayer games I try to win more consistently and more convincingly.
Right now I'm trying to get better at Guilty Gear. And dammit, that game is rough. I need to be able to at least provide a challenge the people I've been playing with. Despite knowing I'm years behind in experience, I feel the need to catch up.
