Its become tribes of savages hating and complaining, groping over different games they like/hate/like and hate or brutally hate.

the reason I say this is because recently I heard news from destructoid of people bashing capcom's new game remember me
http://www.destructoid.com/what-gamers-say-about-capcom-s-remember-me-234563.phtml

all this does is make me shake my head you time/money/ effect/ blood sweet and tears (tears of more money) go into theses games and are worked on for over 3 or more years only to finally get shown to people only for it to get kicked to the ground and people piss on it and call the maker a fag for ripping off uncharted NEWS FLASH Idiots Uncharted wasn't the FIRST 3D platformer..( good gosh..)
seriously to me I just see games has people hard work and stories being put together I won't defend everyone like say EA as a quick example because you can tell when effort was put into a game and when it wasn't plus I can't help but wonder if its the " hardcore gamers " making all this issues " while causal gamers just enjoy them for what they are.
because whenever I hear someone call out a game being a "fucking rip off of deadspace and borderlands" I want to ask "well are you doing with your life and creating with your time instead of calling someone else hard work shit"

( P.S for those who've seen the "remember me" gameplay vid to me it looks like assassins creed mixed with syndicate lol )

...what? I don't get what your thread title has to do with your complaint.

As to your actual complain, I couldn't care less about what people say about games. For example, I love Call of Duty, Madden, & FIFA; every single one of these games get the common and incredibly stupid complaint that every version is the same as every other version.

I consider myself a "hardcore" gamer (as in, my primary entertainment in life is gaming). If I think game X is fun, I will play game X. If someone doesn't want to play the wicked fun game X because it's too much like game Y, then it's their loss.

people judge pretty quick i guess...

It looks interesting to me. Hopefully the hyper-linearness is just because it is a chase scene.
Thats the only thing i could put against it really :)

It was more of Assassin's Creed in a cyberpunk setting, where you play a mindhacker. And if somebody doesn't find that awesome, then there is 89% chance they are not aware what awesome is.

Here is how concerned I am with what others say...

...because, if there were games similar to Remember Me, I would be playing them right now. There aren't though, so the criticism is void.

Your Thread title both scares and confuses me, as it has nothing to do with anything.

Remember me looks awesome. Anyone who thinks otherwise is intitled to their opinon and I wont argue it.

But if they're call the makers of it fags or other such nonsense, they are idiots not worthy of the energy it takes to be mad at them.

The people who play the games make up the culture. There are all kinds of 'culture' and I also ask, is the act of liking and playing games and acknowledge this with others more of a hobby culture or a culture that can be replicated on many different websites that have similarities?

Is there fandom of specific games that would count as Video Game Sub-culture? (such as counter strike for example, in itself being a sort of hobby, or even TF2?)

A culture of savages is still a culture. And honestly this is a natural extension of the world we live in. You raise a generation on a world on demand and instant gratification with hyper-abbreviated attention spans then the stream of cultural backlash to something it does not like will not come in a nice polite package. It will be delivered with that same abruptness and demand for immediate delivery on any form of potential.

Honestly, I am studying this whole phenomenon and I can see that given the time and freedom to expand this might be the first steps, for better or worse of a human evolution at best and at least a massive shift in human nature.

Welcome to the internet. No, really, it's not like this hasn't been around for years. Everyone hates everything that they don't already not hate.

Also, "lol" isn't a punctuation mark.

Oh, right...because everyone in any other culture gets along just fine. Like one unified voice, no-one dissents or has their own interpretation, they know what to think because they are x or y.

Give me a break.

I think this is perfect evidence of how gaming is a culture, we have the people who discuss this and that about the culture, the nameless majority which are neither seen nor heard, and the loud mouth breathing idiots who constantly shout out their barely rational, at best, and completely fucking retarded, at worst, opinions every time someone brings them a forum to do so. I mean it happens everywhere, why not about video games, I mean legend has it someone was killed for revealing that the square root of two was irrational.

People can argue about things within a culture, just to let you know.

On a side note, if Youtube commenters are hating it already, I'll probably end up loving this game.

<spoiler=all the beautiful comments>"everyone is copying Sony uncharted what a shocker. ill still be getting this game. so 2012/13 is looking good for Sony console. WATCH DOGS MGS GZ REMEMBER ME GOW A AND LOTS OF EXCLUSIVE YEAH. GO SONY." - jojo ash

"The game literally guides your hand the whole fucking time. The combat looks dull as fuck the enemies don't even try to hit her. The dialogue is shit, and the plot is garbage and so obviously predictable and cliche'd as well as it being completely linear. Sure the environment is nice, but its not much when they don't even do anything with it. Reminds me A LOT like Dead Space so I wouldn't even call it that unique." - HolyPwngeSucker

"Uncharted meets Dragon Dogma... This is so wrong... its like cancer filled with aids" - CabooseAzul

"Cutscene>10 seconds of gameplay>Cutscene>10 seconds of gameplay>Cutscene>10 seconds of gameplay>Cutscene>10 seconds of gameplay>" - TonyKnockOff

"GAMING IS DEAD" - TriforcePlayer2

"shit, absolute shit" - kurono1999

"I want her to NOT look like a man, and to look like a beautiful woman. In the world there are millions of beautiful women, and just because they are all beautiful, it does mean that they all look the same, you know. If their intention is to make her look ugly with manly characteristics, then they are on the right track." - HeavenlyShogun

"atleast this one doesnt have some ugly ass chinky eyed girl like that other parkour game." - WhiteGravey

"Eww i hate british accent." - jibjr88

"the girl is fuckin ugly and manly wtf" - ricefarmer

"Capcom just made another Jill Sandwich." - darkof

"Let me summarize the comment section for you so you don't have to scroll through. People thinking naughty-dog invented action-adventure with uncharted." - CupCakeAndMe

"capcom should hired David cage for story line and there tech for this game and made it exclusive for ps3 instead. aka heavy rain director from QD." - jojo ash (again)

"i'm glad that they made her wiggle her hips when she moves, i was afraid i was going to have to take her seriously as a character." - dragontamer1127

it makes our sexism threads look humane

Replace film with game and this is how I see it.

You don't notice the people enjoying the game because they're quietly enjoying it by themselves, all you see are the people who pull a megaphone out of their ass and proclaim their hate for it.

While this is true, you can't say that isn't a culture. ...as pathetic a culture as that is.

Meh, gaming for me is a hobby, nothing more, nothing less, I love playing video games but I still say gaming is not strictly a culture.
Same here. I don't play to win or to set any high scores (as good as they feel when I do) I just have fun. I'm very proud to say that I play games, but that's as far as it goes for me.
