Alright, so my laptop just crapped out on me. Something wrong with the screen plus me shoddily trying to find out what's wrong (Wire might have shorted or something). A little sad, been wanting a new gaming computer for quite some time, but having that laptop for so long, I wish I could have seen it live longer.

Long story short (too late) I'm in the market for a new computer for under $1,000 (thus gaming in quotes). I looked at Alienware and am just a bit unimpressed, looked at iBUYPOWER and found this little gem

getting that plus a nice little Microsoft Office Student (attending college, that's why I want a laptop) puts it just barely over $1,000. I'm only worried about two games. Shotun 2 Total War and Civilization V: Gods and Kings.

I guess the real question I'm asking is; Would you recommend this laptop, or would you recommend a different laptop? I'm not really willing to go over $1,000, but I don't want to run Crysis 2 on max settings either. So, what do you guys think/suggest?

Sager Notebook is amazing for gaming laptops, and yes, they have under $1000 ones.

They're customizable and everything. Also they don't come with bloatware.

Shogun 2 is the most demanding game I have, and I can run it maxed with a 5870HD in my PC. I don't know enough about computers to properly comment, but I thought I'd at least give a reference point.

I'd say that seems like pretty good value, a bargain in fact compared to prices here in the UK.
