I'm looking to get a laptop that can play Oblivion, Bioshock, Fallout 3 when it comes out and Fable 2 when it comes out along with many other games. You could say "Just get a 360" but those aren't portable. You could also say get a desktop, but see the reason for a 360. I've got a crap load of games and my old computer blue screened earlier today and it's been about time so I'm looking to get a new one. I've been looking into Alienware because some of my friends tell me it's still the best gaming company. Also, a good hard drive space is necessary. Lemme know your suggestions.

Thank you for your completely useless post that was of no use to me what-so-ever. If you're going to post at least contribute.

Edit: To sound less harsh, I know desktops are more useful for gaming. But considering I'm hardly ever home I'm not going to carry my desktop around with me.

Just a tip: Rudeness is a bad idea, be civil and polite or face the wrath of those who wield the Banhammer.

Second, while laptops aren't quite as good for gaming as desktops are you can still get a decent one (It will however be more expensive and in a few years time it will be obsolete and as laptops are very difficult to upgrade you'll have to buy a new one to run any new games at that time.)

Aside from that, if you want a good gaming laptop Alienware is a good brand, but they're also overly expensive because you're paying extra for the brand name. I'd say go with an HP or a Gateway, or get something non-brand name off of New Egg or Tiger Direct (This can be a bit risky but you get more bang for your buck.)

Here's a good looking one you might want to look into:

Hope this helps.

Yup, and I can hook it up on a table without a screen. If a 360 had a screen built in and an independent power supply I'd LOVE to carry one around in my backpack or it's own carrying case as opposed to something useful that doesn't break disks. I have my reasons for wanting a lap top, so stop trying to convince me otherwise.

Thank you Jobz for contributing. But the reason I was frustrated is because it frustrates me when people post useless information in threads. I know a desktop would be cheaper and be able to do more, but as I said, I'm not carrying it around everywhere I go.

Go to www.notebookreview.com and fill out the questionnaire.

You're probably going to end up with a 15.4" Sager which will cost around $1600-2200 depending on your configuration. I have a two year old Asus G1 which can run Oblivion fairly well but struggles mightily with Bioshock, however, the newer technology coming out has opened up a lot of games to the 15.4 size and I'm currently considering buying a Sager NP8660.

A 17" will probably give you a big more in the spec department and will be better for heat regulation but my personal preference is the 15.4 variety and my brand knowledge is 2 years out of date so I don't know if the difference is that severe.

You can get Intel Montevina processors, Nvidia 9 series graphics cards, 4gb of ram and anywhere from a 100gb to 1tb of storage on a laptop these days (depending on what you want to spend and the size of the chassis you want) so your options are wide open if you have the money.

Eggo, if he asks for help on a laptop he is probably well aware that he will be spending more for decent specs... I, personally, feel it's easier to just assume the people I'm talking to on this board aren't low-grade morons because if you're here you tend to know a bit more than someone on Yahoo Answers.

Some of us are willing to spend some extra money so we aren't tied to a computer desk every time we want to do something on the computer. Having the ability to play CS, build 3D models, and surf the net while lying in bed is worth a few hundred extra to me. I sit at a desk all day at work and when I come home and want to relax or do homework I'd rather be able to do it in a position of relaxed repose.

Eggo, that last post was directed towards carrying the desktop everywhere I go.

My suggestion is, If you want a gaming laptop, go to a specialty site like Alienware. I have an Alienware m15X and it's a beaut. Crysis on high and it cost $2100.
