Two weeks ago I got hp pavilion dv6z. Recently my charger, it came with the notebook, failed, and after a week a row or two of pixels were "blinking" white (sort of like static), but it stopped as suddenly as it appeared. I am trying to decide between repairing this computer (sending it to HP) or returning it and getting something new, better suited for gaming. I bought it for less than $700, but since then I got some extra savings, and if I would return it I could get something for $900. I have 7 days left to return the computer.
My desktop seems like it is on its way out - every week or two, pink and green spots appear on the display, and then computer freezes. It is just a matter of time before I will replace it (and then my brother will also chip in since we share the desktop).
So far both of those machines were capable of handling every PC game I have (Skyrim is the newest one), except The Witcher 2. Game is playable on medium and runs at 25 - 30FPS, but frequently has hiccups and when in dialogue some characters' lips are ~1 second behind the audio when playing on the laptop. Desktop runs it around 25FPS on the lowest settings.
So far, only new games that are coming out this year and I am planning on playing them using my PC are Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, and DoTA2. I mostly play older games, but I want a laptop that could last 4 or 5 years and handle gaming. Once I get a new one, desktop will most likely be my main gaming machine.
Specs:
What do you think I should do? Get a new laptop, PC, both, none?
I spend a lot of time thinking about it and can't come to the final decision, but so far I will most likely to keep my laptop for "light" gaming and get a new PC one it's gonna be necessary.
Thank you for advice
