[The Smoking Gun]

I'm sure this topics been discussed before but I just came across a relatively obscure game called Vanquish that had me reminiscing games as awesome as this little 20 dollar gem.

It's pretty much a blend of gears of war, sonic the hedgehog (the old ones) and a little bit of max payne. The story is completely forgettable but man is it FUN.

Best moment for me in that game: Doing a back kick flip off a mech, going into slow mo in mid air, unloading a shot gun round into its face while spinning then rocket legging into safety... God did it feel GOOD

The only other games I can remember giving me that feeling of pure awesome were:

Batman Arkham Asylum- 25 hit combo without a pause effectively clearing out a whole room of goons in like 1 minuet... Had to put down the controller for that one, i was smiling so hard.

God of War 3- There was one particular part after entering Tartarus where everything went so smoothly. Nothing could touch me and i just wrecked everything.... I just had to yell "FUCK YEA!" after finishing.

So fellow escapists what are some games that did it for you?

Batman: Arkham City. Taking out a group of 7 mooks, leaving one conscious for interrogation (Riddler thug), without getting hit, with nothing but counter-attacks, dodging over the Riddler thug when necessary.

That, and taking down Solomon Grundy.

When ferals were stupidly OP.

Also I killed a stupidly twinked shadow priest that was gy farming on my rogue and robbed her of the 20 kill cheevo bwahahaha.

I know I would have loved Vanquish when it came out but playing the demo for literally 30 seconds gave me the worse migraine ever... I never get motion sickness from games usually.

OT: Recently in League of Legends, surviving 2 tower dives in the same 30 seconds as a really low health Ashe. So this Vayne tries to dive me but my support Alistair dies for me and gives me a free kill cuz his CC is amazing.

Then this full health Kassadin comes from behind (nice ss btw) when I was recalling and instead of trying to run to my inner towers I just hit him with a Volley and ran circles around the same tower in the most humiliatingly simple kite around the tower I have ever seen... Somehow the silence > teleport combo didn't kill me since he missed his little cone thing.

Oh and nothing is more badass than playing Irelia on a good day. Nothing. You can't beat walking through a shitton of slows, fears, stuns, snares, roots, silences etc etc on your crusade to jump on their AD Carry and not even feel anything. Then you Flash over a wall after their team has wasted all their cooldowns on you to give your team the easiest Ace ever!

Though I can't say i'm awesome all the time cuz sometimes your opponents are just bad... When I was against a Fiddlesticks solotop for example! Not sure if that works normally or if this guy was just really bad.


Always lobbing Dark Winds out every time it was off CD is not good... If he was solomid fine that would be rageworthy but I have so much sustain! So much sustain!

Then he'd get scared of getting ganked cuz he's pushing so hard and he'd miss allllll the farm.

Seriously the farm count was 44 to 131 in my favour end game... Whaaaaaaaa

He was Flashing out of my harass after a point... I was committing to nothing just doing my usual teleport poke shenanigans and he's just "ohhhh shit mang!"
