It's an issue with me. Ive been planing to mage a few game montages (MW2, GOW2, Halo 3 and so on) and have a few selected songs for it and one of being a Machine Head song. Now to the people who have the jist as to what the digital economy bill does, would i get burned for using a song from said band for a montage and post it on Youtube? p.s. there is an anti-download feature on youtube to prevent realplayyer downloads and i would credit the song in the description and say that i own nothing about this song or band and it is just used for entertainment purposes.

Cheers for reading.

The song would probably get blocked out and you'd end up with a silent video, and you would probably get a warning or even get your account suspended.

Voice of experience.

To be honest youtube is designed for original content. A lot of users really slip through the cracks, but eventually get caught out. There's not much originality on youtube these days.

You won't get in trouble. Your content just gets silenced or taken down. Used to happen all the time to my WoW videos since I like to use music from certain record companies that are super paranoid about their copyrights.
