Ok, pretty simple. Well, maybe not. Essentially I would like for my fellow escapists to share some moments of gaming nirvana. You don't have to any real criteria. I guess it's a bit of a strange question so let me just give my examples. For I have two glaring moments of "Nirvana" in gaming. The first being in the original modern warfare, Call of Duty 4. I think now that I mention it, it's pretty likely you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's of course when, after rescuing your fellow army members and marines, a fucking nuke goes off and the helicopter you're currently fighting in goes spiraling out of control and crashing to the ground as you lose conscientiousness. Then you jerk yourself out of a mini-coma, claw your way to the back of the helicopter and fall off the edge. Almost being knocked out cold again, you pick yourself up and begin sluggishly limping away from the wreckage. The whole time thinking, "Well, if I have gained control of him, I must survive. Obviously." Only to die 15 feet from the same wreckage you just pulled yourself away from 20 seconds ago. Devilishly Amazing. The other moment takes place in fallout 3. Now, anyone who hasn't played fallout 3, should play it. Period. GOTY edition is currently $20, which even in other currencies, is a fantastic deal. So, the beginning of fallout 3 sets up the rest of the game very well, as... a baby. You know what? it's 3 am and I'm quite tired, so go watch the first minute and a half yahtzees review because that explains and describes it quite well, but... The moment after helping amata to get to the vault exit, and stepping outside the vault(after the immersion breaking childhood change-o-matic window) to walk your first 10 steps out on to the "scenic overlook", nir fucking vana. It is a very surreal moment where you ask your self "which way am I suppose to go?". To which the game answers,"which way do you want to go?"... So, reply away. :)

EDIT: sorry about the block of text, like I said, 3 AM, tired as hell, I'll put it into paragraphs when I wake up in the morning.

I was sold on Outland after reading Susan Arendt's review of it, and I wasn't disappointed. The game, from beginning to end, was pure joy when beating challenges that seemed designed to be unfair. The second to last boss has a Canabalt-like section to begin with, and completing that without taking damage had me both exhausted and grinning like a loon.
The entire game pretty much beat the crap out of me, but afterwards, when my thumbs actually hurt, I felt extremely satisfied with myself, not so much for having experienced big set pieces move, but for having survived the challenges.
