What kind of peripherals/things do you need (or you prefer) to enjoy gaming and general use of a computer?

For me, I like a minimum 19" convex CRT screen,
for that true immersive feeling, more alive colors, better flexibility in resolutions and refresh rates.
Mouse-wise, I crave and very much need a uniform trackball mouse with two buttons,scroll-wheel and a cord.
Lastly I also absolutely prefer a rubber base, cloth covered mouse pad.

Except for a cord to my keyboard and head-set, all other things I can vary as I want.
The cords are because I want them to be reliable and don´t want to spend extra money on batteries when it is not needed.

So what set-up do you prefer?

all I need is a computer that doesn't lag like shit every five seconds (IE: whenever something important to my character happens) and that has alot of memory.

22" screen, high-end PC and a headset without too much static. Keyboard and mouse dosn't really matter that much.

I donnow, nothing special here, big ole' flat screened-CRT, cheap USB keyboard, Microsoft optical mouse, headphones. I've never felt the need to buy specialized gaming gear. Granted I haven't done things like spend 20 hours straight gaming at a LAN party in years, so that might throw things off a bit.

I have a Microsoft 3000 wireless laser gaming mouse, and a Logitech G15 backlit gaming keyboard, and a USB 360 controller.
