GBC replacement cartridge battery question

I've been reading a lot of stuff on how to replace the GBC cartridge battery due to the fact that its memory can only be held for ~15 years (meaning that they are all dying around now.) When you replace it with a modern watch battery, about how long does this one last? My first assumption is that it lasts the same as the old one, however it might last longer due to being a modern battery, or last not as long because it was not built for the Gameboy.


Does anyone know?

I replaced one two years ago and it's still going, and it was a battery from one of those cards that play music not a new one. Though I don't think they will last as long. In the past things were made to last, now things are made to be disposable or environmentally friendly.
