Gears of war 3 Yey or ney ?

Hey guys, gears of war 3 is released tonight (at least for us UK folk anyhow)
so what are your views ? will you buy it yes/no, either way why wont/will you buy it just chuck your general thoughts in, personally i'm buying it because the story hasn't let me down so far, and i always feel awkward not finishing a good story !

Looks pretty amazing. Always got chills at the 'Brothers to the end' thing. But of course the game is NEVER like the trailers. Shame. Still, I'll be picking it up at the end of the week.

i get the shivers too, and yeh its very true that the game will probably be nothing like the trailers, but we can all hope right ?

Anyway, series like Gears of War make me resent the idea of console exclusiveness. I would like to play the game, it looks mighty fun, but I am not getting a 360 in order to do it. So my answer is a bittersweet nay.

Always enjoyed the Gears of War series. I'll say yay. Also so far, it's getting pretty good reviews, that I've seen.
Though, I don't think I'll pick it up right away, wait a little while.

Myself, I really don't see the appeal of Gears all that much.

But I do know someone who has started queuing up for it 30 hours early (and is now first in line at Game on Oxford St). A series that inspires that degree of dedication must have something going for it.

Im getting it, for the story, gameplay and the offline co-op, it sounds too good to pass, and I have played all the GoW series with my best friend and its pure fun.

I had the feeling it needs bigger events and bosses and bigger weapons.

Really?! I feel like the story in Gears of War 2 was kinda a let down from the sort of non-existing one in the first game. Although after reading all the Gears of War novels that's been released up to date I am super excited for the third game so I am definately picking it up. Especially since they went back to basics with the mp, I loved the beta!

Yeah, gears 2 felt a bit empty, but there was that feeling of futility through both 1 & 2 and i like that feeling in games, knowing that this is a far superior and larger force than your own makes it feel epic in a sense haven't read the novels yet but will be doing =]

Pre-ordered it the other day, picking it up tomorrow. I'm not a midnight launch man, I have a life, but still, always found the appeal of Gears being the fitting gore. Can't stand in games when you cook some fool with a sniper to the face and they just sort of do a flip or something. I want BRAINS!
