I was just looking up when the new season of Project Runway starts, and it got me thinking about other feminine/unmanly things about myself.

I ask you, fellow Escapists, what are some of your gender "inappropriate" traits or characteristics? I know all of this is really just a matter of opinion, but go based on the general standards of your society.

For example, I'm a 19 year old male and I love stuffed animals and all things adorable. I also love television shows about fashion and dancing, romantic movies, shoujo manga, and I despise pretty much all sports. Living in the American South, I always get questionable looks if I mention any of that, especially since hunting, guns and football reign supreme around here.

Thread's probably been done to death before, but I couldn't find anything recent in the search, so have at it!

I'm a big colour buff. I can tell the difference between a light lime and chartreuse.

I love stuffed animals too ^^. I have about 7 on my bed right now, 3 Sullys, a Smiling Snowball, A Mini Snow Yeti, A Nemo and a Jellyfish and a Panda XD. I also turn to mush at the site of puppies or kittens.

I can't listen to "You've got a friend in me" without crying. I don't think it's gender but nonetheless, Toy Story 3 turned me into a blubbering jellyfish.

I'm 27 and unmarried. Depending on the culture, I could be considered a dowager.

But only if I was filthy rich. If I was, I'd fill my house with stray cats and fling them at trespassers.

I like to watch cooking shows. That isn't normally construed as manly. I also dislike sports.

It's not hard to see why people think I'm gay. Gym buff who knows a fair bit about fashion would be one of many traits. Luckily I can use this to my advantage ;)

I go to the movies by myself to see romantic comedies, I read shôjo manga, right now I'm wearing sparkly blue nail polish, I've made out with a guy, and I like reading Marian Keyes and Meg Cabot, the chick-littiest chick-lit writers ever.

It's funny. My roommate exemplifies the girly-girl standard (always in skirts and pink, loves dolls and frills and sewing), and I, the tomboy (Loves to play outside, wears jeans and slacks, rarely ever wears makeup or skirts).

Yet she is the least ladylike of any girl I've ever known (belching and farting in public, sitting with her knees apart), and I'm a proper lady once you get past the exterior.

Hate sport, and I can tolerate romantic comedies. I'd say "virginity" but that statement would be wrong, since girls never have "permavirginity".

I like dudes. That's usually a trait of that other gender, right?

Oh ma gawd, sparklies!

But no, I would never wear nail polish. Though the blue would go with my computer...

Most of the time I'm pretty much the least girly guy ever. Kind of like James May. He's into all that classic bloke stuff, right? Working in sheds and stuff. Funnily enough, "May" was my nickname in my last years at school. Mostly because of my James May-alike hair.

Bath & Body Works is a vestibule of heaven to me. I don't even know what half the stuff in there is supposed to do, but my own mother jokes that I always come out of that store smelling like a French prostitute (who apparently smell a lot like Butterfly Flower, Sea Island Cotton, Country Apple, Coconut Lime Verbena, Rain-Kissed Leaves, Sensual Amber, Mango Mandarin, Warm Vanilla Sugar, and Sweet Pea mixed together). Also, their line of men's items totally suck, and I prefer coming out of the shower smelling like Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Bringing up how readily I cry at certain things in video games would require too much explanation, my fondness for moemoe seems a male stereotype anyway, and I think my propensity to get readily attached to video game characters and profound love of cats are gender neutral. My devotion to shoujo manga (and Fruits Basket in particular), however, is less explicable.

I like stereotypically "cute" animals. I guess my dog is still quite large and imposing, but I've got a soft spot for animals regardless. I guess that's a bit more of a gender neutral thing though, because most people I know at least like dogs and/or cats.

Huh, that's funny. I didn't know I had a list of this stuff... Oh, so that's why a couple of my friends call me "a bit feminine."
-I have a soft spot for small animals in general.
-I use the ancient Greek philosophy; manly men aren't afraid to let their emotions show, and only pussies try to hide them. (I don't cry in public, but nevertheless.)
-I like a decent love interest sub plot.
-I like a good turn based JRPG every now and then. (That was a joke, okay?.. I don't care how unfunny it was, calm down, dammit!)
