No way! I was just asking a friend the other day, "who the hell's Gene Wilder?", because I kept getting him confused with Gene Hackman. Shame, he gave so much, not least of all to memers everywhere.

I loved Willy Wonka as a kid (both the book and the movie). It's been a while since I saw the movie, but I still occasionally listen to some of the songs on Youtube. I even listened to the Golden Ticket song after finding out I got a new job.

RIP Wilder.

I just read this a minute ago. Damn, I didn't think he was anywhere near 83 years old. I was thinking he was in his 50's. Probably just being naive, but learning that he was dead did actually hurt a little. This guy was in so many great films. Willy Wonka, Young Frankenstein, and Blazing Saddles to name a few. He was a great addition to many a comedy. Truly the clown is sad today.

What? What gives you that idea?

...huh, you know, I genuinely thought he'd died like, ten years ago or something. Weird.
I think you're thinking of Richard Pryor, who he did a few films with. I think he also retired at the same time.
