Hello my fellow Escapist!

I am currently on a mission, and was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have quite a soft spot for puzzle games, since I was a young lad, from the simple ps1 puzzlers like Kula world, to flash based on-line games. Anything I could get my hands on, something to test the brain out.

As of late though, I have been finding it harder and harder to find some really good puzzle games. Something unique and interesting.

Some examples over the past couple of years:

Portal
Braid
World of Goo

So if anyone could recommend anything to me, something that is really unique I would be greatly appreciative!

Any consoles will do! :)

Thanks, ddrmatt

SpaceChem is brilliant and well worth a shot - the demo is free on Steam, and if you decide to buy it your progress is transferred over.

Pick up the HD remade Tomb Raider Trilogy, I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Edit - PS3.

I picked up a game in one of those indie bundle sales on steam called puzzle agent. That was pretty nifty. It's a point and click adventure game with completely random puzzles thrown in. Story and setting were cool too.

Also, the ball. You have a ball in it.

Have you tried Machinarium? You can get that on steam for pretty cheap, and it's awesome.

I found Cogs to get frustrating pretty quickly.

However, I recently bought a game called SpaceChem that has very interesting puzzle elements. Imagine the "robot instruction" type of game, in a scenario where you bond atoms into molecules in a programmed reactor. It has a demo that gives a nice chunk of gameplay.

A few others on Steam...RUSH involves finding a route to send colored blocks to the correct exit square without colliding with any other blocks along the way.

Also, try downloading the preview version of The Ball, a mod for Unreal Tournament 3 converted into a standalone game using UDK. If you want the full experience plus the last few levels, you need to buy it on Steam. Be warned that it didn't get superb reviews.

And if you have a DS, definitely buy Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. It's like Phoenix Wright, but with much more reduced dialog sections and much more hands-on gameplay.
