Long-story-short, a student at Florida Atlantic University became enraged by a review session on evolution, apparently by Peacocks and sexual selection. She asked the professor why evolution killed black people, and when he tried to explain that evolution doesn't kill people directly, she freaked out.

Awesome video, if I do say so myself, and the general hypothesis is that she participated in some protests for a black kid named Trayvon and was incensed from that during the course.

So, thoughts? It's a pretty intense subject, to say the least, and the youtube comments are cringe-worthy, as always.

Edit: I forgot to mention some of the contents of the video. Aside from screaming mass threats to everyone, accusing a random white kid of raping all of her ancestors, assaulting said kid, then punching the teacher/technician that came to get her out of the class, actually, that about covers it.

I was a little disappointed at the end there, I was hoping she was going to get put in her place with a swift, nice backhand. But alas.

Stupid people will be stupid people. I'm more surprised at how long the teachers there let that go on for as long as it did.

If she was killed in this assault we could give her a "Darwin Award" for sure, outbursts oddly happens with evolution. People get upset at points that are not even being made or say absurd things like "Humans are not animals! We are Mammals! Mammals of god!" then kick over a desk run out the door and drive off never to be seen in that class again if i was to give an example of my own.

Simply put the girl wen into a fit of rage hit her with criminal charges that she no doubt racked up and get her out of the school.

As for her attitude... WTF is the only appropriate reaction this goes for just about every word. People are not black yet they are all N*****s yeah, you raped my ancestors, You [my professor] are sick. Not only are all these comments idiotic they are not even on point of her complaint.

College can be extremely stressful and students flip out for all sorts of reasons. Heck, there were a few semesters during my university days where I have to plead temporary insanity for some of the horrible decisions I made under stress.

I would imagine that the girl was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and this was just a trigger event. She might have snapped just as badly if the guy siting next to her was chewing gum too loudly.

I did think that she looked unwell. I've seen people have mental breakdowns before, and it does seem to suggest she's not thinking clearly.
Making a big deal out of someone's personal breakdown is not particularly nice.

I once heard of a university student who went into his friend's room, took all of his stuff and used it to recreate the layout of the room perfectly outdoors, and even ran out extension cable to power the whole thing. I like to think that was some strange manifestation of academic pressure.

Fair play to the victim in the prank, rather than move it, he just stretched out a tarp and lived outside for the rest of the semester.
