Men, men, men and the ladies! Hello. Let's give some indie games you like, love or find intriguing; some love by... just mentioning them.

Being an appreciator of the indie scene I always am on the lookout for new titles and to share my own favorites and upcoming titles that look intriguing with other people. Now the kind of marketing these little fish in this big ocean rely on is usually word of mouth marketing, which most of you will already know, so lets all help them out a hand shall we? This way you might come across some new games you haven't played yet and you can show your support for your own favorites or most anticipated games. Let's just mention them, with perhaps some links and a description.

Now here is my list. (I took my time with typing this, tl;dr is at the bottom)

Starfarer: Starfarer is an top-down 2D open world space fleet simulator. This game is a mix of RPG, RTS and arcade spaceshooter with quite some depth to it and this depth will grow by time with free updating. Currently the game is in the alpha but already purchasable at http://fractalsoftworks.com/ . Do know though that the game still lacks some content when it comes to the campaign, but it already has a loose pack of missions and I do recommend this to everyone who loves meaty spacecombat with depth to it.

Cubeworld: Cubeworld is a cute voxelbased high fantasy RPG created one guy named Wollay, currently still in development but the game already looks great (to me that is I want it now). You can see gameplay and lots of screenshots at http://wollay.blogspot.com/.

Cortex Command: Cortex Command seems to be a 2D RTS/shooter which has been in development for quite some time, it even won 2 independent game festival prizes in 2009. It appears that you are a brain which controls an army of robots, you can manually control them or just let the AI take over while letting rockets land on the surface to reinforce your army. For more info and perhaps a purchase go to http://www.datarealms.com/ .

Vessel: Vessel is a 2D puzzle/platformer with a hint of out of liquid made automatons, I think most people who have steam already picked up on this game but still wanted to mention it. You are the inventor of automatons who are entirely made up out of liquid and your job is to solve problems certain companies got out of your creations, to find out more go to http://www.strangeloopgames.com/ .

tl;dr
That was perhaps a bit long so, Starfarer, Cubeworld, Cortex Command and Vessel. Go check it out http://fractalsoftworks.com/ http://wollay.blogspot.com/ http://www.datarealms.com/games.php http://www.strangeloopgames.com/ .

Dude, cubeworld looks really, really good.

Here's some free ones:

Spirit Engine 2 [http://www.thespiritengine.com/]: this one is basically a JRPG (although not from Japan or in an anime style) with a really cool tactical realtime/turnbased combat hybrid. Music is amazing, and art and writing are both very solid. This is better than a strong majority of RPGs you have to pay money for.

Brogue [https://sites.google.com/site/broguegame/]: like Dungeons of Dredmor, this is a gateway drug roguelike. The game has ascii art but looks amazing somehow, and reaches IMO the perfect combination of accessibility and depth. Also better than a strong majority of RPGs you have to pay money for.
