We've all done it before...We we're feeling on top of our game, and then for WHATEVER REASON, shit just hit the god damn fan.

Mine just happened yesterday. I smooth talked a girl into giving me her number the day prior, a rather cute girl to be honest, someone I definitely am attracted to. A great turn of events for an overall great night.

So, yesterday(which would be the next day on my timeline), I gave her a call in the evening. She didn't pick up, so I left a message asking if she'd be down for getting some coffee or a bite to eat. One minute afterwards, my father calls up and asks how everything is going, but I hear someone trying to beep in. I finish up my conversation with my father shortly after, and see her number as the missed call. Now, I was worried that I didn't hear her number properly, so I just decided to call back and made a little joke about playing phone tag (she didn't pick up, this was a voicemail), and then she didn't call back for another half hour or so. So, I texted the number to make sure it was actually the right one and she responded and we spoke for a bit and she said she'd talk to me later. Now, a whole day passes and still no contact.

I'm a sad panda because I feel like I came off really desperate and just blah.

So what are your stories of that horrible feeling of "MAN, I JUST FUCKED THAT UP, DIDN'T I?!"

EDIT: Not looking for advice by the way! Just asking for other funny stories.

Wow, I'm so glad I don't have this type of drama in my life.

Dude, if you're needy and desperate then be needy and desperate. If she can't deal with that then it would never work out. Just do what you think you should do and hope for the best because if the other person rejects you for who you really are then that is NOT going to be a healthy relationship. Also, don't stress so much. Drama is not fun and a lot of it is self imposed.

I know, I know! I stressed out a lot yesterday over it, but I'm fine with it. I know it's only been a day. haha

I never meant for this to sound like "OMG END OF THE WORLD", just more of a humorous look at stuff that we all do from time to time where it just happens to fall into some sort of shit storm, ya know?

Getting dumped by your girlfriend, twice.

On a less de-motivational note once (after being dumped the first time) about 5-6 months after a friend of mine had the hots for me, now I was preoccupied chasing my ex around so I didn't notice. I made plans with the girl I later realised she thought it to be sort of a date, I cancelled later because I wanted to chase my ex some more and an opening arose. When her friend told me I was like... oops, 'man I just fucked that up, didn't I?'. On the plus side I did get back with her! Only to be dumber 6 moths later on the pretence that 'we are better as friends'

*cry*

I was playing QWOP, and I was running well, got up to about 50 meters, and then fell on my face.

there was rage.

Never got the shit up to the fan because I have a technique: Testing the water. If someone says something stupid close enough to something I want to bring up, I make "Stupid Thing #21-b" the main topic for a while before changing subject. I did manage to slip furries into subject with that technique. The funniest part, a friend that was at the table asking me 2 days later where furries usually hang out on the Internet. His words: "You know, just wondering."

Bah! I could never chase after a girl like that. I was contemplating doing that with my first ex (a girl I dated for 3 years), but I found out she cheated on me, so that was a big hell no for me!

Nice...Interesting tactics there.

But fell in love with? I don't know man...falling too hard for women is never a good thing in my opinion.

I just asked a girl over FB for her number and she isn't to active so still don't have it but I tend to use a 3day wait rule once I do have it. Anyways, I once totally broke down thinking my GF killed herself (she was already emo and had a failed attempt at it and was in a mental hospital.. I pick the winners don't I?) Well that was really just stupid of me and I could see how I was being WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY to concerned.... and thats when I know it... I JUST MESSED THE FUCK UP!

My story...I had a huge crush on a guitarist in a local bad. It took him a while to realize I exist because I was fairly shy at the time. So I finally got the nerve up to start flirting heavily. He was clearly starting to dig me and I was thrilled because he was not only an outstanding musician but he was also smart and funny. The band was new and they played a mix of cover songs and originals. So one night they played a new song, that I just loved. So I say to him "Damn that is by far the best original song yall have played yet!"
YEP!You guessed it..... It was a cover! I felt like such a jerk. Eventually he got over it and we did end up dating, for a moment.

Yeah, I'm interested in another girl at the moment and we might start dating but I don't want to let myself fall for her until we're actually a couple for a while.

Kinda, but more in the sense that up until I was out of high school, I was a rather oblivious kid. Two separate girls that I thought were cute most likely had a little thing for me, and looking back, it was rather obvious. Again, I was just rather oblivious.

Nowadays, though, "my" biggest messup didn't end up being my fault at all. Other then that, I'm actually fairly smooth now, and I found out that there's a 90% chance I've been reading a girl 100% correctly, and will not be dropping the ball on it ;)

There's an older lady in a wheelchair in my building that often needs to have the door held open for her when she takes her dog for a walk. The other day I opened the door for her and we chatted, and once she had her dogs leash clipped she wheeled out. As she left I said to her, "Goodbye, have a nice walk"

You have no idea how much that tactic is useful. with enough practice, you can bring anything up through good links. I use it a lot, due to the way I describe myself:
A shy gaming nerd, lurking a lot on the Internet who also discovered he was a furry through... exploration of said Internet. I have sparked quite a few... interesting discussions at the diner table -_-'.

One thing though: If the tactic hasn't got the wanted effect, be ready to witness backfire of EPIC proportions.

I honestly think it would have been worse if you said have a nice ride or something along those lines.
