I'm kinda stuck. Haven't bought a game in a while being busy with school and all. Now I'm totally free and don't know what to get. Recommend a game that is under $30 and really good, something with an epic story. All answers welcome

Edit: RPGs and shooters only please!

I have a PS3 and PC. I left that info out because I was looking for alot of anwers. No wrong answers just trying to get alot of recommendations so i can choose one.

If you haven't already, you should try Saints Row 2. I gave it a chance a few days ago after not being too impressed with the 1st one and I absolutely love it.

If you want an RPG, maybe NIER? Its pretty underrated and actually pretty good and interesting when you get into it.

Either Mass Effect 1 or 2 if you haven't played those yet.

Timesplitters: Future Perfect for PS2 is a great FPS, and will most likely be ~$15 if you can find it.

Mass Effect games are definitely a good choice.
The first Dragon Age as well.
Demon's Souls is a good one if you have a PS3.
Oblivion is another especially with Skyrim coming later this year.

What consoles do you own?

Kind of hard to recommend anything without that info.

EDIT: Oh, in that case get Demon's Souls. Valkyria Chronicles too (but get Demon's Souls first, because Demon's Souls).

Demon's Souls is pretty engrossing. TECHNICALLY a JRPG, but with WRPG-style gameplay. Or give one of the Mass Effects the old college try...

this is a hard question to answer, really since I don't know what you have already, or what you like beyond "shooter" and "RPG". Try Red Dead Redemption if you haven't already. Not REALLY a shooter in the CoD sense of the word, but you do get to shoot a lot of stuff.

splinter cell conviction is only 15 euro in my local gamespot.. not the longest single player (but for 15 whos complaining?) but the terrorist hunt (single and co-op) will keep you coming back..

so much so that i actually bought another copy after mine broke (dont lend games you like :( )

Fallout 3 is good, and demon's souls is really fun.
But honestly find a cheapo xbox and play the mass effects.
Those games are the only reason I keep my xbox.

Half Life 1 for the PS2, one of the best shooters ever.

Timesplitters Future Perfect for PS2 as well. Possibly the most fun you'll ever have with a shooter is in Timesplitters.
