Today I went to the post office and wanted to renew my bus pass, I was offered by the assistant life insurance, credit cards and a fixed rate ISA. Has anybody else had similar experiences?

No, but I've heard stories of how it used to be: Rock up at office, have a friendly chat to the clerk, pick up your mail and off you go. Now it's more like (In some places) 100 points of I.D, spell last name ect and they give you a look over then pass mail to you, no friendly chatting :/

Hey, at least you still HAVE post offices. I miss them... =´(

EDIT: I figure I should probably answer your question too: No, seeing as we no longer have post offices in my country; instead we have postal service points that are run by various shops and petrol stations.

Nope. The last time I went to the post office was for my passport renewal. There were these really annoying kids there, also for passports.

It was pretty expensive though, was pretty shocked passports cost so much.

I still get gobsmacked at the price of stamps everytime I buy them.

Everyone who works in the Post Office, I find, are so bloody miserable.
