Hi,
with my recent low mood and low self esteem, I've had less and less interest in playing my games.

No matter which game, I either only play for a very short amount of time (like 15mins max), or don't bother even starting the game up.

Being that it's all i used to do in my free time, I'm stuck feeling low / feeling worse about myself for hours on end.

How do i re-ignite my interest?

Should i just try to find something else?

I like playing games with people. Playing co-op online or off-line seems to bring the game into different perspectives. You always get more enjoyment when you can share it with friends.

I burned out at one point last year. Something that helped was to play shorter games with a definite ending so that I felt that I accomplished something. For me it was a minor stress related depression and it helped me more to talk to friends and family rather than retreating into games. I didn't so much talk about me as I talked and discussed about things I found interesting, games being one of them.
My best idea is to find something you can complete - games, books, model airplanes or anything really. Hang in there and try to find out why you feel bummed out, and write it down. You don't have to read it ever again, but at least I found out what made me feel crap and one by one I could do something about them.
You'll get on top again:)

I burned out a while ago, it was a combination of guilt from my backlog of expensive games and hitting a rough patch in school.Try to pinpoint what is making you upset first and then think about whether playing games is your first priority anyway. If you just feel bad but can't put your finger on why just talk to someone and do something you like but haven't done for a while. I found the best way to re-ignite my interests in games was to take a step back and find something dynamic and nostalgic to play. My go to has always been Kirby 64. Could beat it in an afternoon and is just pure fun.

Sounds like you're ready for a real-life adventure. I reccomend booking a one way flight to a country you've never heard of. Best thing I ever did
