Sometimes they do it well like Tobey Macguire in Spiderman or Comedian and Rorsarch in Watchmen

But sometimes it bombs, like Kristen Dunst as Mary Jane or Christian Bale as John Connor.

What are some of the best and worst casting you know?

Recently?
Woody Harrelson in Zombieland.
Hell[sup]yes[/sup]

He was my favorite part of the movie, hands down.

I really think the worst casting when they get a wrestler to play a part in a movie. Actors stick to acting. and wrestlers stick to wrestling. That's how it should work. No recent movies name comes to mind, but I know John Cena was in one, that I could barely stand to finish

Thought that, whats her face, batman's love intrest in the dark knight looked really old, there were some shots where I think they did a awefull job lighting her face.

Its for the best I suppose, seeing as it was never to be.

Jamie Fox in Law Abiding Citizen was bad because Jamie Fox's level of badass(like he has one) would have been overcome by the badass that is Gerard Butler.

Proably Morgan Freemen in just about every movie as long as it is a supporting role. He is a great actor, don't get me wrong, but all good things (Even his awsome voice) need to be taken in moderation.

The worst goes to that tv sitcom guy (Don't know his actual name) from Funny People. I just found his acting horrible for some reason and it was a big reason why I didn't like that movie.

I don't unerstand putting Jason Stathem into every generic action movie that comes out, oh well, I guess he's slowly replacing Nicholas Cage in that regard.

And I think Ewan McGregor plays is great, he's a very fine actor.

I'm probably going to get flamed, but Megan Fox and any part that requires acting and not just looking good. She can't act, it drives me insane. Raises frame of old wooden flame shield, it's all I have left!

Heath ledger as The Joker was excellent, Gerald Butler as Leonidis was superb, there was a film where every character was portrayed (as far as I was concerned) perfectly by the actor, made such a difference, however, it was some time ago, I saw it but once and the name escapes me.

Agreed, Megan Fox cannot act to save herself.

Personally I think Christian Bale is a great choice to play Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Obviously he doesn't get as much recognition as Heath Ledger but he is very suited to the role.

I was going to mention him, but my selections seemed to be very comic book, so stopped haha.

Depends on your standards. For eg, I like realistic acting, not that over the top dramatic shiznit.

Really? I thought Toby McGuire was a poor casting choice for Spiderman. Not that he's a bad actor, I just didn't think he was best suited to the role. ...not that I could think of anyone better though.

Having brad pit play Durden was litterally the best actor you could cast.

The decision to have him play achilles was aslo good. That whole movie was well casted

having collin feral play Alexander the great was terrible

Ummm. robert downy Jr. was excellent as tony stark

Bad: John Malcovich.
Was miscast as Himself on Being John Malcovich.

Agree with RDJ as Iron Man

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, will ultimately fail as Green Lantern though

Rowdy Roddy Piper in "They Live!", Jessie Ventura in Predator...there's exceptions.

I disagree, I think that Toby McGuire was perfect for the role. Originally, that wasn't the voice of spiderman that I had in my head, but I found that it worked better than anything I could imagine.

I think that the main strength of the movie Juno was the casting choice of Ellen Page, seriously she's usually the highlight of any movie she's in.

As for bad casting well I gotta go with Tom Cruise in Valkerie, solely because he refused to drop his American accent for even a second.

EDIT: Also for the record I get a good vibe from casting Robert Downey Jr to play Holmes in the upcoming movie of the same name.

Any role Seth Rogen has been in ever.

His method of acting consists of stating something blatantly obvious in as matter of factly a manner as possible as though he were realizing something spectacular, then laughing. He's like Dane Cook on Quaaludes.
Finally, someone like me!
