howdy guys and gals of the escapist, I'm recently engaged and my fiancee and I like to play games together, but we can't really find too many to play.

We've played quite a bit of Diablo 2 and a bit of the new lara croft game.

but honestly I'm stuck, I realize that all RTS can mostly be played co-op, atleast a comp stomp. So we've done a bit of that, but it's really not a genre that interests her.

So I'm turing to you escapist, what are some good co-op games for the PC that you guys know of.

I'll keep a running list here of what is added.

Edit: just a quick addition, I am looking for primarily LAN or offline co-op where it's like a campaign or story (she's a sucker for a good story) so if there is anything like that you can think of that would be great, thanks!

Edit again: We are also looking forward to Diablo 3 and Portal 2, I do know a bunch of games are releasing this year and a few of them are going to have some good co-op, so games that are out now are best. (though I do appreciate the heads up and will defeinitely keep my eye on em)

Thanks in advance!

Games List (in no particular oder):
Borderlands
Diablo 2
Lara croft and the Guardian of Light
RTS games
Red Orchestra
Killing Floor
Team Fortress 2
Any of the MMOs
Left 4 Dead 1/2
Titan Quest
Alien Swarm
Trine
Minecraft
Magicka
Dawn of War 1-2
Obscure
Serious Sam
Neverwinter Nights 1-2
Baldur's Gate 1-2

Well, grab Portal 2 when it is released. Oh I'm assuming you are playing via LAN is that correct?

Magicka is a pretty good one.

Also like what's already said, TF2, Left 4 Dead, Alien Swarm are good ones

- Congratulations.

OT: Trine (rpg/platformer), Obscure (horror) and Minecraft are some of my favorites

Can't beat a good bit of Dawn of War - 1 or 2. Warcraft 3 is good for co-op too.

If you're in for a bit of fun ultraviolence, Serious Sam. Awesome. You can even play splitscreen on the PC. I have no idea how that works though, as I haven't tried it.

I'd say Alien Breed games, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Tyrian 2000 and the Splinter Cell games

do you recommend Magicka, we were looking at it and it does look pretty fun.
just keep in mind that friendly fire is a common, normal occurrence... and mages are not very tough

You'll kill your friends a lot, but it's not a big deal.

Honestly, Left4Dead was an amazing game, but unless you have friends to play with, don't waste the money on it. For the past year the game has been ruined by douche bags and server mods. Not sure if the second ended up the same way, never cared for it much...

well if you care for classic computer rpg's at all, i would recommend the first or second neverwinter nights game(s) (i've beaten the second one, but from what i've heard the first one is good too)

those are pretty fun and you can export your characters and whatnot for multiplayer runthroughs together.

if you like those you could even go older and get Baldurs gate (1&2) and planescape torment

I remember planescape, that was a good game, perhaps I'll see if I can't get her into that. Thanks
