Good games to get my sister into FPS games?

Sooo yeah I want to get my sister into FPS games because I went to get her to hook up with one of my friends brothers. Long story but anyways: What are some good games to introduce her to FPS? At the moment she enjoys games like:

- Mario Kart
- Spore
- Zelda Series
- Mario Galaxy
- Age of Empires

umm can't think of any others. Anyway she is a bit of a gamer, every holidays we bring out the old nintendo 64 and run through a bunch of games. We have a Wii, N64 and PC's but i'm considering buying a PS3 soonish.

Preferably it should have co-op as well.

Edit: I am going to be getting a ps3 I have decided. I also asked my sis why she doesn't like FPS games and she said mainly because they don't ever relax and they have no storylines. I need to prove her wrong, what are some good FPS, ps3 (preferably) games with good storylines and also with open world or areas where you can just mess around in? I've noticed in a lot of games my sister does t always do the main story, she spends a lot of time doing side quests or just exploring and messing around.

Wait, what? You're trying to get her to hook up with one of your friends brothers through FPS games? I don't think a mutual interest in FPS games is going to be the decisive factor in that.

Ehh like I said, it is a long story and I'm not too serious about her hooking up haha but I WOULD like to get her into FPS so we can play them together.

If you're playing on the N64 you should try GoldenEye. It is old enough and somewhat cheesy enough to not be too graphic, but it still extremely enjoyable. It doesn't have co-op that I know of, but you can play four player death matches.

Depends on what systems you have ofc. I can personally recommend a little CS via LAN. start without bots a little 1 on 1 so she can get a hang of it and don't pwn her to hard. then add a few easy bots and keep going from there.

Otherwise Halo is not bad, Gears of War horde mode is fun as well, got my best friends little sister to start playing shooters that way...... then i raped her.

counterstrike. you want to start someone out with bleeding counterstrike XD?

halo, yes, halo even a drunk/stoned/idiot who never played it can play to some reasonable degree and have fun
hell, i know i girl who couldent move and look around at the same time and she could play it XD

gears ..depends on the type of girl i think, if shes like oooo violence is cool, then yes, gears, elsewise... maybe another game XD

Get the orange box and hope she likes one of them. Try her on Portal first.
Other than that just try a verity of different ones, if you don?t like one kind of shooter you might like another.

Halo is good as it is simple and easy to learn. Plus it has bright colours and amusing aliens.

People keep recommeding games based on quality instead of ease of play and suitableness for an FPS virgin.

Counter Strike has very easy controls, and you can decide the pace for yourself, there are no power ups or advanced map layout, you can run around and shoot the wall for 3 minutes. I stand by that this is a good first game. But i would be interested if you could expand you opinion on why it's not good?

to my knowledge its quite unforgiving, since there is no such fancy stuff as in other games, it, in that game boils downt to who shoots first, what then boils down to map knowledge and reflexes. the 'lucky beginner' factor in that game is kinda low, if get what im saying XD
counterstrike is one of the games where your skills quint quite a bit more then i like in my shootergames XD, even more then other unforgiving games, like americas army, or i dont know, name some unforgiving games XD
something with shields would be better, cause then you can go aaah someones shooting at me! -runs in circels and then out of the bullets-
and not be dead XD

Anyway, as much as I hate it Halo and Modern Warfare may be good starts.

People keep recommending Portal but ignoring the fact that it's a puzzle game and is only an FPS through a technicality means I wouldn't recommend it.

I saw FPS, and my first thought was Gears of War. No joke. First Person Over The Shoulder imo.

OT: I'd actually recommend Doom through Jdoom. (Or doomsday I suppose) It's got coop, it's classic, easy to learn and damn fun.

Or others that are real easy to get into:

L4D
Bioshock
Half-Life 1 and 2

and if she cares for more tactical:
Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2.


All of them are really easy to get in to, great for a complete noob.
