Maybe you don't know what I'm getting at here, but there's certain music I always like to listen during those quiet, late nights. Stuff that's got that... existential, vibe to it. It's music that keeps me up all night for some reason. I want to go to sleep, but at the same time I don't, because I feel too emotional. Maybe that isn't the right way to explain it. Oh well, maybe you guys will understand it better after listening to these songs. Post your own.

I've gotten to the point where Metal of any kind can easily put me to sleep. I guess I've conditioned myself that way.

If I close my eyes, it's dark, and I attempt sleep, all my music will help me feel a little more tired, but I usually do this is internet radio. It's there that I figured out that I could easily fall asleep to "DIE ************ DIE ************ DIE!" ...

I don't know how to post a video, but something good to listen to at night is pink floyd. It calms me down a lot. maybe some blues also, or jazz.

I know the feeling.

For me, it's always been the soundtrack to Cowboy Bebop. Listening to it right before bed leaves me tossing and turning because it triggers so many emotions in me.

Like this.

I like to listen to both songs to help me sleep. Not that I need it often, but maybe they'll help others.

This song is always perfect at night.

And for posting videos you can either just post the link, or take the code at the end of the URL after the = sign for youtube videos, and put it in this: (youtube=*insert code here*). Just replaces the parenthesis with [ and ].

Yeah, a lot of music triggers memories and associations with things. I feel the same thing when I hear any of the music used in Fooly Cooly, or especially when I watch it. So many memories, emotions and deep characters in that show that I feel a lot people miss out on because of all the insanity in that show. I try to sleep, but the show and the music just keep replaying in my head. It doesn't help that I used to watch that show all of the time when I was much younger too, and I never really understood it, but loved it for some reason. And I just got around to watching it and fully understanding it too, so there's a lot of emotional build up there. Same with Cowboy Bebop, something I still haven't got around to watching but remember watching with such curiosity as a kid. Namely I remember that insane clown guy in that suit... I can hardly even remember what that episode was about, but it always scared me and made me sad.

These songs really do it:

Pierrot le Fou?

If you haven't watched all 26 episodes, you owe it to yourself to do it, now! There's hardly a moment throughout that show that isn't simply amazing.

---

OT: I always dig a little chillout music when getting ready for sleep. Gatecrasher's Karma mix off the Experience collection is a great one. Builds great dreams. Here's a song from that album

Yeah, that one.

And I'm already on it. Got all 26 episodes downloaded, and I recently watched the first one.

And the Venture Bros. are awesome too. Another show I need to watch, I've only seen a handful of episodes on Adult Swim.

I liked that. I can always get into spacey, atmospheric, electronic music.

I've never found music that keeps me up at night. If I'm tired, I'll fall asleep regardless of what the good old stereo system is playing.

I will tell you that good classical music will make me fall asleep easier.

And if I'm ever really tired but can't sleep I have a secret weapon. I can fall asleep in under 3 minutes listening to the Brass Tower Music from Pokemon 2nd gen. Ever since I got Crystal and played it late at night, that song just zonks me out for some reason.
