basically he wants to decide which system to get, knowing which games he will be able to play and wont be able to play will help him decide which system suits his flavor
I know this has already been answered but I wanted to put in my 2 cents.Alleged_Alec said:Thanks for the responses so far. I do have a question for all of you though: will I still be able to enjoy MSG4 even if I haven't played the previous MSG games?

Huge MGS fanboy here to say there is NO EFFING WAY this game is 20 hours long. I think my first playthrough exploring everything, without a guide, watching every cutscene/prologue/epilogue took about 15 hours, being half movie and half gameplay. None of the MGS titles are that long, and all of them can be beaten in fewer than 4 hours each.Crash486 said:[MGS4 is really an amazing game, most of the "omg there's no gameplay its all a movie" crap is just 360 fanboy rhetoric they use to denounce a title they can't play. The game is approx 20 hours long, of those 20 hours, maybe 5 of them are cutscenes, so there is still a good 15 hours of rock solid gameplay
Don't be idiots guys... that's a horrible argument. Would you say rockband is a stupid game because you could just learn how to play a real instrument, or a sports game is a waste of money because you could just go play soccer or football, or any fighting game is a waste of money because you could just go learn martial arts? Why buy a shooter when you could go play laser tag or join the military? Why play tetris when you could just stack some blocks?Christemo said:Try outside. I just went and picked one for the sake of it. Unless you live in some large city and have to cough up ten bucks to see artificial flowers, which is tragic in a deep sense.
Ehh... my first playthrough was 19 hours 38 minutes (according to my save files). That's 20 hours in my book. Even if your playthrough was 15 hours, there aren't 7.5 hours of cinematics, so there's no way it was half gameplay half movie.Thunderhorse31 said:Huge MGS fanboy here to say there is NO EFFING WAY this game is 20 hours long. You're talking about MAG, and its 256 players, not 160 XDLilGherkin said:but I do know there's going to be a 160 player at a time online game coming out next year that's going to blow me away hopefully.
You should try using Amazon's UK site, some games are crazily cheap there. You can get MGS4, LBP, Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank for the price of a normal game (should be an ideal starter packAlleged_Alec said:Thirdly, wow. I'm starting to really think that buying the console is worth it. Too bad I only have 400 something euros, else I would've bought a whole cart full of games...

Not really. But because there aren't many of them around, they will be very hard to find and expensive.DanniXXX said:Does it really need to be PAL?
