I currently have some money to spare and i'm thinking of buying some CD's. The only problem is i can't think of which ones to get. Can anyone suggest any good bands fitting the genres in the title?

Could you narrow it a bit? Cause you've just covered about 5 million bands.

Go. Put in bands/songs you like.
Be able to listen to similar bands/songs.

If you find you're exceptionally fond of some of the bands that've been suggested to fit your taste, go buy their CDs.

That is how I find music I enjoy.
Well I tried that site, but it told me to go away because I'm English...

The Black Album was where they first started selling out to a larger audience. In MY opinion (and if you take the time to listen to any of the other artists I listed, you'd see I'm not into nuevo metal garbage), from the Black Album on, Metallica sucked. Hettfield should've died in that pyrotechnics accident. Better that, than to see what became of Metallica.
*thunk*

I am so seriously fucking tired of people complaining about bands 'selling out'. It makes me want to SCREAM. Your particular wording of it is hateful.

A larger audience. a larger audience! How DARE they want more people to know about like about their audience! You know what, they could probably live with only 100 fans. They should make music that only 100 people like. Corporate bastards.

for metal, get yo self some:

Angel Witch [http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=537] (song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXZc9-mtFDk]) this is NWOBHM

Candlemass [http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=34] (song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-M90eEjL6I]) this is doom metal

Gallhammer [http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=28291] (song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6balaHGQg38]) this is crust / black metal

Darkthrone [http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=146] (song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A0tkMhQMwg]) this is black heavy punk metal, early stuff is straight black metal, earlier it's death metal (their demos are cool)

Celtic Frost [http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=269] (song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5sSOni66C8]) this is first-wave black metal, meaning it resembles thrash and death metal. if you only listen to ONE of these, make it Celtic Frost.
