That was all I was aiming for, gave me a little chuckle. Whoever did the design for the booklet must have been influenced by the Half Life box.

He really doesn't look all that similar, the glasses and beard I suppose and yeah he does a similar facial expression but other than that I see no basis for comparison.
It did make me chuckle though.

But they look nothing alike. And the advertisement doesn't look like the box art either, unless you for some reason think that everything showing the face of a guy with a beard and glasses look similar and have been inspired by the same specific thing.
