Hey fellow escapists!
I recently started playing Dark Souls again, after a hiatus long enough to forget almost everything about it. I made it to the second bell last playthrough, before real life demanded I put it down for a time. I've started playing again, and I've been wondering...I love the exploration and the discovery, but I hate feeling like I've missed some secret or some wonderful loot. Are there any sites or anything out there that have a checklist of what can be found in each area, but doesn't tell you where they are? I know it's against the spirit of the game to have even the slightest hint of what's going on, but I would hate to miss out on something powerful or something important to the lore because I didn't find an illusory wall or didn't jump some gap somewhere. If such a thing exists for Dark Souls II, I would appreciate that as well. Happy Gaming!

This website covers the entire game with map, location for items, npcs, bosses, shortcuts, and which path leads where.
The link is already set for the first area.

Have fun

The Dark Souls Wiki has a list of every item you can find in each area. Just go to the list of locations and each page for each area should start with a list of the items and NPCs in the level.

That's pretty much perfect, thanks! It says whether it's on a corpse or not and doesn't say exactly how to find it. Great!

You're welcome! That sounded like exactly what you were looking for. I've used that wiki many a time. Like you, I prefer not to just look up everything I missed, but there are plenty of times when just a hint in the right direction is very much worth it.
