I am writing a paper for my English class and im seeking advice for sources and credible websites to support my paper. This paper is revolving around the negative aspects of the US Government funding and supporting nationwide internet service. So far i have that it wouldn't be cost effective in today's society and because of our economic issues (debt). I'm also thinking doing a paragraph on how it could harm businesses and turn the US into a monopoly in and of itself. finally i was looking for a paragraph on how the first amendment would be effected with the monitoring of people and the websites they view, along the lines of sopa or pipa comparison. I need a supporting source to my argument for each of those three points or paragraphs. I'm only looking for "credible" sources, and any help would be appreciated. Also if you happen to have a paragraph idea of your own feel free to suggest it, again thank you.

It sounds a lot like you want us to do your research for you, which I won't do. However, I can tell you a few places where you can find decent sources. Online research databases are very good for research papers. I would recommend looking at your school's library's webpage and see if they have anything there. If not, try google scholar.

Although I do want to add that, from my (admittedly limited) knowledge on the subject, you might have an easier time supporting government funded internet. For one, the increased government spending, especially in this economy, would do way more good than harm (especially considering that the debt isn't nearly as big a deal as everybody tells you it is). Next, if the government funds nationwide internet service through subsidies, there really isn't any risk of a monopoly. Finally, government funded internet does not equal government controlled or government monitored internet.

You could probably make a convincing argument for your side, but you will most likely have a much easier time supporting government funded nationwide internet service.
